This month’s food and drink happenings include a boozy and nostalgic Christmas-themed pop-up, festive Brunch with Santa, and more.

  • “Le Brunch du Jardin” at Le Jardinier at MFAH | Saturday, December 2 & Sunday, December 3 – Guests are invited for a holiday meal to remember as the Bastion Collection’s culinary director and Michelin-starred chef Alain Verzeroli joins protégé chef de cuisine Felipe Botero for “Le Brunch du Jardin.” The luxurious four-course brunch will spotlight the seasonal delicacies of white truffle and caviar, with highlights like smoked ora king salmon with Royal Kaluga caviar and Wagyu beef bavette with truffle sabayon. $85 per person; $60 addition for caviar and shaved truffle, $75 for Gosset Champagne pairings. 11:30am to 1:45pm.
  • Santa Brunch & Live Music at the Annie | Sunday, December 3 – The Annie in Uptown will celebrate the holiday season with its 5th annual brunch and photos with Santa. Enjoy festive pictures with Old Saint Nick, a tasty buffet, specialty cocktails, live holiday tunes by the Ringside Barbershop Quartet, and more. $85, includes breakfast buffet and photos, plus a complimentary mimosa or bellini for 21+; $55 for children. 10am to 3pm.
  • Global Bites & Beats with Urban Harvest at City Place | Sunday, December 3 | No Cover – Rescheduled from an earlier date, this Spring event in collaboration with Urban Harvest sees a bustling night market that features delicious food showcasing Houston’s culinary diversity. Sample bites from partners like Casetta Cucina, Chilesquiles, Dumpling Haus, Momma’s Tamales, and more while DJ Sun brings a curated night of world sounds alongside DJ Beat Sicarios and Malcolm Bravo. Noon to 4pm.
  • Angel’s Envy Repeal Day Whiskey Dinner at Eight Row Flint East | Tuesday, December 5 – Celebrate the anniversary of the end of Prohibition with a four-course Repeal Day dinner with bourbon pairings, hosted by Eight Row Flint East End and Angel’s Envy. $160. 7pm.
  • Il Boro Wine Dinner at Rosalie Italian Soul | Thursday, December 7 – Enjoy a guided five-course meal with offerings such as Rigatoni with Porcini and Nepitella to Wild Boar Cacciatore and Polenta. Each course will be paired with a unique wine profile. $120 per person. 7pm to 9:30pm.
  • Hanukkah at Hamsa & Doris Metropolitan | Thursday, December 7 to Friday, December 15 – Every night of Hanukkah, Sof Hospitality concepts Hamsa in Rice Village and Doris Metropolitan in Montrose will hold a menorah lighting at sundown. Guests can also enjoy a special of sufganiyot (fried donuts) for dessert; latkes with caviar at Doris Metropolitan; or challah and babka from adolina, available every Friday until sold out.
  • Gingerbread Stout Private Tasting at Buffalo Bayou Brewing Company | Saturday, December 9 – BuffBrew is hosting an exclusive tasting of its Vintage Gingerbread Stouts, featuring a vertical sampling of various vintages, small bites pairings, a private tour of the brewery, and a special gift to take home. $50; seating is limited. 7pm.
  • Table to Stage with Chris Shepherd at Stages | Mondays, December 11 & December 18 Chef Chris Shepherd continues his exclusive series of intimate conversations, opening up a dialogue with world-renowned chefs and exploring the hidden artistry and inspirations that shape the foods we love. This month features two shows. On December 11, rockstar pitmasters Greg Gatlin, Leonard Botello IV, and Patrick Feges take the stage, while chef Aaron Bludorn is the star of the show on December 18. $45 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Chanukah Menus at Kenny & Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen & Bakery | Through Friday, December 15 – In celebration of Chanukah, Kenny & Ziggy’s will offer Chanukah and Festival of Lights to-go menus, available for pre-order in four different packages and featuring holiday delights like stuffed cabbage, brisket, kasha varnishkas, fried kreplach, potato pancakes, hummus and matbucha, smoked salmon, deli platters, and sweet noodle kugel. 48-hour notice required. 8am to 9pm.
  • A Hogwarts Christmas Feast at Westminster UMC | Saturday, December 16 – Pull up a seat at the great feast when Gastrochurch hosts an evening of Harry Potter fandom, where you’ll get sorted and earn points for your house through trivia, solving riddles, winning the costume contest, and more. Tickets include dinner, two drinks and all the festivities. $55 and up; $45 and up for ages under 21. 7pm to 11pm.
  • Henderson & Kane’s Winter Soulstice Soirée at Secret Location | Thursday, December 21 – The Sixth Ward general store and bbq slinger, Henderson & Kane hosts a solstice celebration held at a secret location nearby. Expect a night of soulful rhythms and funky beats from DJ FXBOX, delectable bites and good company. $110 for 2, and up. 5:15pm to 9pm.
  • Tinseltown: The Christmas Speakeasy at Chatters Cafe | Through Saturday, December 23 – The halls are decked with baubles and bows, twinkly lights and wreaths, and all the festive goodies as Chatters Cafe near Washington Avenue transforms into this Tinseltown Speakeasy for the season. Enjoy Christmasy cocktails, warm winter drinks, and more. 90-minute time slots are $22 per person, includes a themed drink. Wednesday through Sunday; times vary.
  • Christmas Day Dinner at the Rustic Post Oak | Christmas Day, Monday, December 25 The Post Oak location of toe-tappin country bar and kitchen the Rustic will be rocking a Christmas Day dinner service, with a choice of roasted half chicken or prime rib, plus sides including  steamed green beans, jalapeño spoon bread, and a fully loaded twice baked potato, all served family-style—and peanut butter pie for dessert. $38 per person. 5pm to 9pm.
  • Miracle Pop-Up at Daiquiri Time Out, Johnny’s Gold Brick & Winnie’s | Through New Year’s Eve, Saturday, December 31 | No Cover – Beloved holiday cocktail pop-up Miracle returns to Houston watering holes Johnny’s Gold Brick and Winnie’s, plus Daiquiri Time Out in Galveston this season, officially opening their doors through New Year’s Eve. The kitschy holiday themed pop-up offers a bit of holiday magic in the form of cheery cocktails—like the Grandma Got Runover by A T-Rex, Island of Misfit Toys, and Ruldolph’s Rum Rhapsody, plus over-the-top nostalgic holiday décor, festive snacks, and spirited vibes. Times vary by location.
