  • Mondays with Mommy at La Centerra at Cinco Ranch | Monday, October 9 | FREE – Bring the little ones for a complimentary hour of fun, fitness, and playtime at La Centerra at Cinco Ranch in Katy. This Monday is hosted by Katy Gymnastics. 9am to 10am.
  • Toddler Tuesday at Discovery Green | Tuesday, October 15 | FREE – Toddlers and their caretakers can enjoy a morning of interactive story time, costumed character meet and greets, activities, and soft play equipment from Toddler Towns. 10:30am to 12:30pm.
  • 34th Annual Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival in Downtown Conroe | Friday, October 13 to Sunday, October 15  The family-friendly fest features three days of live music with local, regional and national performers across three stages, food vendors offering festival and Cajun favorites, arts and crafts vendors, a professional carnival, assorted community and educational exhibits, an annual Catfish Pageant and a KidZone area, and more. Tickets are $15 and up; free for ages 12 and under. Times vary.
  • Junie B. Jones, Jr.: The Musical at Charles Bender Performing Arts Center | Friday, October 13 to Sunday, October 15 | Ongoing – Bring the family out to watch an adaptation of four of Barbara Park’s best-selling books, Junie B. Jones, Jr.: The Musical, at Charles Performing Arts Center in Humble. Tickets are $22 and up. Times vary.
  • Arbooretum at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center | Saturday, October 14 – Pick out your costumes and head to the biggest event of the season at the Arboretum. There are plenty of fall activities for all ages including live animals, pumpkin decorating, and Houston’s very own Trick-or-Treat Nature Trail. $20 in advance, $25 at the door; free for ages 2 and under. 10am to 4pm.
  • Texas Family Literacy Festival at Discovery Green | Saturday, October 14 | FREE – Story Square hosts this first-ever fest in Downtown, inviting new and experienced readers to visit with family and discover the wonder of literacy. Meet authors, enjoy stories, food, prizes and games, and take home a free book. 10:30am to 6:30pm.
  • Bark in the Park at Town Center Park | Saturday, October 14 | FREE – This annual event in Kingwood features a pet costume contest, engaging talks and an art competition, all focused on family pets and rescue groups. 11am to 6pm.
  • 2023 Annular Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at Levy Park | Saturday, October 14 | FREE – Join scientists and educators from the Lunar and Planetary Institute for a fun and educational viewing party of the annular solar eclipse at the Greenway park. Enjoy music from DJ DelSur and a lunar-themed craft for kids of all ages. 11am to 2:15pm.
  • Community Altar Workshop at Holocaust Museum Houston | Saturday, October 14 | FREE – This third annual workshop sees participants gathering to explore the meaning and significance of Día de los Muertos through craft making and working together to build an altar. 2pm to 4pm.
  • 2023 Wings Over Houston Airshow at Ellington Field | Saturday, October 14 & Sunday, October 15 – One of the top airshows in the nation, Wings Over Houston showcases vintage World War II aircraft and modern aviation with soaring spectacles, reenactments, and high-flying aerobatics. This year will feature an appearance by the USAF Thunderbirds along with simulator rides, a kid’s carnival, merchandise and autograph booths. Tickets include admission for one adult and up to 6 children (ages 14 and under). Sign up for free to be an Air Show Insider and score discounted admission on tickets. Advance tickets are $45, $50 at the gate. 8am to 4pm.
  • Pearland Art on the Pavilion at Pearland Town Center | Saturday, October 14 & Sunday, October 15 | FREE – The free, 2-day art fest in Pearland returns with regional artists showcasing and selling their unique custom artwork and goods, plus live music, food trucks, family-friendly activities and more. 10am to 5pm.
  • Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival at Nature Discovery Center | Saturday, October 14 & Sunday, October 15 | FREE – This two-day festival for the whole family offers as day of games, crafts and fun activities, plus food, photo ops, animal ambassadors and plenty of pumpkins. 11am to 4pm.
  • Galveston Greek Festival at Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church | Saturday, October 14 & Sunday, October 15 | FREE – Galveston’s Greek fest returns with two days of Greek food, drinks, pastries, souvenirs, and more. There will be live Bouzouki by Dimitri Karageorgo, traditional Greek Dancers, church tours, imported merchandise and food products in the Greek market. Times vary.
  • Pumpkin Round Up at George Ranch Historical Park | Saturday, October 14 | Ongoing – Trot through a pumpkin wonderland at the start of the gourd-ous season. Gather your friends and kiddos for a fall-rific photo op featuring a towering pumpkin display created with more than 20 types of pumpkins, gourds, plants and fall flowers. This event runs through Saturday, November 25. $10 and up; free for ages 3 and under. 9am to 5pm.
  • Houston Texans vs. New Orleans Saints at NRG Stadium | Sunday, October 15 – C.J. Stroud and the Texans battle the New Orleans Saints at NRG. Catch every first down, see Toro, and cheer for the team along the way. $125 and up. Noon.
