Stroll, shop and tap into your inner artist at the day-long Bye Bye Summer Art Tour in Downtown Bastrop on Saturday, September 30, 2023.

A two-hour drive west of Houston, the Central Texas town of Bastrop has been busy building an artist community that will be on full display in historic downtown at the Bye Bye Summer Walking Art Tour held at the end of September.

The mostly indoor event combines the efforts of several Main Street shops, galleries, studios and art centers to showcase the work of more than 200 artists, while also offering everyone a chance to try their own hand at art-making activities.

Across multiple art hubs just a short walk from one another, you’ll find hundreds of artworks available for viewing and purchase, urban sketching sessions, glassblowing demonstrations, live music and a chance to meet and talk with many of the artists eager to share their creations.

While you mosey through Bastrop, be sure to stop by local gift shops for vintage goods and handmade crafts, as well as one of the town’s many Main Street eateries offering delicious dishes that range from farm-to-table and Southern cooking to Mexican and Vietnamese food.
