Fans on Sunday can also take advantage of limited-edition merch drops at the practice facility. Free with advance ticket. 9am.
  • Houston Astros vs. Los Angeles Angels at Minute Maid Park | Friday, August 11 to Sunday, August 13 – For the final time this regular season, MLB slugger Shohei Ohtani makes an appearance at Minute Maid for a three-game series with the ‘Stros across Hall of Fame Weekend. Enjoy special appearances by Astros legends, giveaways like a Minute Maid Park replica, and more. $25 and up. Times vary.
  • AIA Sandcastle Competition at East Beach | Saturday, August 12 to Sunday, August 13 – The annual Sandcastle extravaganza makes its big comeback when teams of builders craft stunning sculptures based on themes such as pop culture, children’s board games, Americana, the space race, and beyond. All creative efforts will be exerted for the prestigious Gold Bucket Award. If you miss the competition day on Saturday, Sunday provides potentially less crowds for a viewing day. Free, though parking at East Beach is $15, cash only. 6:30am to 6pm.
  • Summer Sizzler 5K/10K at Brazos River Park | Saturday, August 12 – Pound some pavement and get moving as a family at the Summer Sizzler in Sugar Land. Burn calories while having fun and snagging great swag, delicious treats, free Kona Ice and more. Kids Dash is fun for ages 10 and under. Registration is $29 and up; $19 for Kids Dash. 7am.
