  • Latin Restaurant Weeks at Multiple Location | Monday to Friday | Final Days – The two-week dining event comes to a close, offering one last chance to eat through dishes from a wide variety of cuisines, including Colombian, Ecuadorian, Mexican and across Central and South America.   • Comedian Aries Spears at Houston Improv | Thursday to Sunday – Known as a long-running cast member for MADtv, as well as numerous appearances in film and television, Aries Spears heads to the Houston Improv for four nights of uproarious stand-up. $60 for 2, and up. Times vary.
  • The Riot Comedy Club presents Trixx at Rudyard’s Pub | Friday & Saturday – Taboo-shattering, searingly honest, and painfully funny, Frankie “Trixx” Agyemang is one of North America’s rising comedic stars and he’ll deliver two nights of headlining sets in Montrose. $17 and up. Times vary.
  • 2nd Annual Wizard’s Summerfest at the Ballroom at Bayou Place | Friday to Sunday – Returning to Downtown, A Wizard’s Summerfest invites avid fans of the wizarding world to embark on a limited-time magical journey with a whimsical marketplace, a four-course feast in the Great Hall with live performances, and a chance to win coveted prizes by playing a fan favorite wizarding sport. $79 and up. Times vary.

  • Barbie The Album Listening Party at Cactus Music – Join in on a global listening party when Houston’s oldest record store hosts an event to celebrate the soundtrack release later in the week. Enter for a chance to win Barbie swag and enjoy free refreshments as you listen to new tracks by Lizzo, Khalid, Ava Max, Dominic Fike and more. Free wristbands are required to enter, and can be picked up beginning Monday, July 17 at 5pm. 5:30pm.
  • Trivia & Taco Night at Coaches Pub Midtown | No Cover – Challenge yourself with a wide-ranging slate of trivia topics at the Midtown pub, with $2 tacos available for your celebration or commiseration. 6:30pm.
  • Beginner Calligraphy at Star Sailor HTX – Learn the pushes and pulls, ins and outs of modern calligraphy at this beginner workshop at the Heights craft beer bar. $70. 6:30pm to 8pm.
  • Comedian Angelo Colina at Houston Improv – The Venezuelan comedian visits the Spring Branch comedy club for a bilingual set that blends Spanish and English in his first one-person show, Little Alone. $50 for 2, and up. 7:30pm.

  • Steak & Trivia Wednesdays at 11 Below Brewing Company | No Cover – Dig into steaks from Rosalila Urbano at the Northwest Houston brewery, where you can also enjoy a weekly trivia session with beer tokens, gift cards and a case of beer up for grabs. 5pm to 9pm.
  • Melodic Mood Wednesday at Trez Bistro & Wine Bar – Cellist Klare Naomi provides the vibe at the Washington Avenue-area wine bar, which serves up a tasty steak dinner with special pairing. Reservations recommended. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Stranger Things Face-Off Trivia at Wakefield Crowbar | No Cover – Flex your knowledge on the Netflix sensation, Stranger Things, at this round of trivia in the Garden Oaks area. Following the main rounds, the top three teams will face off in a sudden death rounds for all the spoils. 6:30pm to 8pm.
  • Santa Fe Klan in Concert at Toyota Center – The 23–year old singer-songwriter and internet sensation from Mexico is bringing his arena-sized performance to Downtown where he’ll showcase exactly why he’s garnered more than 10 million monthly listeners. $39 and up. 7:30pm.
  • The Big & Easy Blues Jam at The Big Easy | No Cover – Bring an instrument or just soak up the New Orleans vibes at this weekly blues and jazz jam at the Lower Kirby social club. 9pm to 1am.

  • IYKYK AF Happy Hour at Swallow’s Nest – Join in a showcase of alcohol free and zero or low proof cocktails and spirts at a new happy hour series from Mixed Without with beats by DJ Mike Bondz, happening inside Finn Hall in Downtown. $35 includes drink tickets and more. 5pm to 8pm.
  • Steak Night at Eureka Heights Brew Co. | No Cover – Steak Night returns to the Shady Acres brewery with Korean-style steaks from the grill, courtesy of Yong. Steak prices vary. 5:30pm ’til sold out.
  • The Zydeco Dots, with Sean Lucy in Concert at Menard Park | FREE – The second-to-last free concert of the Save the Locals series in Galveston sees a night of Cajun tunes courtesy of the Zydeco Dots, joined by Sean Lucy. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Ride With Trae Bike Ride at Market Square Park | FREE – Helping to kick off this year’s TraeDay Weekend celebration (honoring H-Town rapper Trae Tha Truth), multiple bike riding groups in the city come together for one of the largest bike rides of the year through the streets of Houston. 7pm.
  • House of Illusions 3rd Anniversary Party at Musaafer – The Indian fine dining destination at the Galleria celebrates three years with a palace-themed event featuring unlimited food, cocktails, performance art, DJ sets, and more at an epic evening party. $225 includes foos and three cocktails. 7pm to 10pm.
  • Salsa Night at Post Houston | FREE – Join Love Dance HTX for a night of salsa moves, Latin dance lessons and tasty beverages in the X Atrium. Free with RSVP. Class is 7pm to 8:30pm; social dancing follows until 10pm.
  • Three’s Company: Nick Guerra, Edi Gibson & Cat Alvarado at the Secret Group – Touring the country together, these three comedians’ credits include appearances at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, Glee, and Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Now, they’ll deliver straight sets at the EaDo laugh house. $12 and up. 8pm.
  • A Mid Summer ’90s Dream Concert at the Continental Club – A trio of ’90s tribute bands take the stage in Mid-Main for a night of nineties jams, featuring Residents of the USA, Billie Joe Must Die, and ’90s rockers The Oneders. $10. 9pm.

  • Kendra Scott x Hotel Zaza Summer Party in Museum District | FREE with RSVP – Free with RSVP; limited space is available to first-come, first-served. Just in time for the peak of summer, Kendra Scott has teamed up with Hotel Zaza for a free poolside event that allows guests the chance to shop the new Summer Collection while enjoying complimentary cocktails, light bites, and live music. 4pm to 7pm.
  • Summer Nights at MFAH – Art lovers who want to beat the crowds will love these private evenings at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. Sip cocktails, chat with curators, wander the galleries and spend time with your favorite works of art. Attendees receive one complimentary drink per admission ticket. $40. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Sublime with Rome, Slightly Stoopid in Concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – The titans of reggae rock and ska punk meet when Sublime with Rome and Slightly Stoopid cruise through the Woodlands in a joint headlining show. $29.50 and up. 6:15pm.
  • 2023 Women’s World Cup Watch Party at Social Beer Garden HTX | FREE – The USWNT kicks off their title defense, looking to win an unprecedented third straight World Cup. Watch all the action live from New Zealand when Social Beer Garden in Midtown plays the matches on their outdoor big screen on the cozy patio. Group Stage action starts against Vietnam on Friday, followed by Netherlands on Wednesday, July 26. 8pm.
  • VryBilingual Dance Night at Warehouse Live – DJ VryWvy returns to EaDo with a night of reggaeton, rap, hip-hop, R&B and more at this Warehouse set. $25. 9pm.
  • Burlesque Classique at Avant Garden – The Montrose bar hosts a night of scintillating dances by elaborately costumed performers to kick off your weekend. $35; includes 1 bar drink. 9pm and 11pm.
  • Emo Nite at Rise Rooftop – Relive a little early 2000s nostalgia when the Midtown venue hosts a night of emo tunes. $16. 9pm.
  • Tha Roast of Trae Tha Truth at MATCH – The H-Town rapper takes the throne as a slate of comedians step up to the mic and deliver witty banter and hilarious cuts as Trae Tha Truth looks on. $20 and up. 9pm.
  • Classic Numbers at Numbers Nightclub – Turn it back to the ’80s with a night of new wave, goth, industrial and more courtesy of DJ Wes Wallace at the iconic Montrose nightclub. Cover charge at the door. 9pm to 2am.
  • Cedric Gervais DJ Set at Noto Houston – One of the newest nightlife spots in town, Noto in Second Ward hosts Tech House DJ Cedric Gervais, out of France. $20. 9pm to 2am.
  • Girls on Decks at Bauhaus Houston – Female DJs and artists from the House and Bass music scenes take over the decks at this Downtown EDM venue for a chance to win a $1,000 cash prize. $10 and up. 10pm to 2am.
  • Dillon Francis DJ Set at Stereo Live – The Latin-Grammy winning DJ heads to West Houston for a night that blends Latin trap and moombahton genres. $15 and up. 10pm to 2am.

Saturday, July 22, 2023 

  • 15th Annual TraeDay Weekend at Aveva Stadium | FREE – Houston rapper Trae Tha Truth celebrates the 15th year of his TraeDay celebration with a free family festival in South Houston. Families can come by to get free school supplies, backpacks and other giveaways, plus everyone can enjoy games, rides, slabs and exotic cars, celebrity appearances, and more. 3pm to 8pm.
  • 2nd Annual Watermelon Dance & Summer Social at Cottonwood – Benefiting 90.1 KPFT, this second annual event offers a full day of live bands at the easygoing Garden Oaks bar, along with free watermelon, face painting, local vendors and more. $20. 4pm to 11:30pm.
  • Tuluminati at Reset – Pick up the free-flowing vibe at this Midtown venue with a full day of DJs, beginning with open decks and kicking off with local and regional talent before a headlining set by Colombian DJ Kofla. $15. 4pm to 2am.
  • Block Party & Night Market at Art League Houston | FREE – Art League joins forces with Canary Coffee House for an evening block party and celebration of art and community. Get access to a special zine release by Ian Gerson, shop from local market vendors and loosen up those pipes for karaoke. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Comedian Palmer Trolls at the Secret Group – Gaining popularity from his comedic videos on rising internet trends, his multiple appearances on court TV shows, and frequent Facebook trolling, Ben Palmer (a/k/a Palmer Trolls) heads to the Secret Group for two sets in one night. $20 and up. 7pm and 9pm.
  • Shania Twain in Concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – One of the best-selling artists of all time, Shania Twain makes Cynthia Woods her kingdom when she brings the Queen of Me tour to the Woodlands. $40.95 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Flow: A Spoken Word Benefit Show at East End Backyard – The laid-back East End hotspot hosts a night of spoken word poetry with the Wordmatician, raising funds to provide hygiene kits and toiletries for families in need. 8pm.
  • Sue Foley in Concert at the Heights Theater – The decorated Canadian blues guitarist and singer, Sue Foley brings songs from her 2021 album, Pinky’s Blues, along with other tunes by the 2023 Blues Foundation award winner. $22 and up. 8pm.
  • Bollywood Party with Manj Musik at Rise Rooftop – Prepare yourself for a high-energy Bollywood party featuring British Indian composer and singer Manj Musik of bhangra group RDB. DJ Vicky NYC joins for a fun night in Midtown. $20 and up. 9pm.
  • Flyjack in Concert at the Continental Club – The Austin-based funk and soul band headlines in Mid-Main, joined by Houston DJ and ethnomusicologist, Flash Gordon Parks for a night of soul, funk, R&B and deep cuts. $15 and up. 9pm.
  • Trae Tha Truth presents Sole Movie Premiere at MATCH – Helping to cap off the 15th TraeDay Weekend, Trae Tha Truth premieres his new comedy set in Houston at the Midtown theater, with a film that explores themes of resilience, determination and triumph. $15 and up. 9pm.
  • Electric Foam: Beach Ball Bounce-A-Thon at Stereo Live – The West Houston EDM venue hosts a foam party where the first 300 through the doors will receive a commemorative beach ball to get the party bouncing. $10. 10pm to 2am.

Sunday, July 23, 2023 

  • Washed Out DJ Set at El Segundo Swim Club – The chillwave pioneer pulls up to Second Ward for a poolside set at El Segundo. $30. 11am.
  • Tex-Mex BBQ Block Party 2023 at Saint Arnold Brewery – This second annual event celebrates the influence of Tejano and Tex-Mex cooking traditions in Central Texas–style craft barbecue. More than a dozen pitmasters will serve up bites of smoked brisket tacos and flautas, crispy prime brisket chimichangas con queso, and smoked pork shoulder pozole. ‘Que vendors include John and Veronica Avila (Henderson & Kane), Eudel Hernandez (Pizzitola’s Bar-B-Cue), Richard Orozco (Heights BBQ), Alec Varnell (J-Bar-M Barbecue), and several more. $70 and up. 1pm to 4pm.
  • Meet & Greet “Lucy” from Peanuts at Houston Toy Museum – Melanie Kohn, one of the original voices of Lucy Van Pelt from Peanuts, pays the Houston Toy Museum a visit on 19th Street in the Heights. $18, including museum admission; pay-your-age for 17 and under. $10 for autographs. 2pm to 4pm.
  • GULP! feat. DJ Python & Yu Su at Bauhaus Houston – The Sunday session at Downtown’s EDM venue hosts DJ Python from New York, along with Yu Su out of Vancouver. $10 and up. 6pm.
  • Trae Tha Truth presents Funny By Nature Comedy Festival at White Oak Music Hall – Celebrate the annual Trae Day weekend with a charity comedy show featuring hilarious comics like Tony Rock, Dat Damn Monty, Moneybag Mafia, Slink Johnson and surprise guests. $42 and up. 7pm.
  • X in Concert at House of Blues – The legendary punk band out of Los Angeles headlines a night at House of Blues in Downtown. $25. 7pm.
  • Cupcakke in Concert at Warehouse Live – The Chicago rapper and hip-hop artist brings her recent singles to the EaDo stage. $30 and up. 8pm.
