Cap off a beach day to remember with country music concerts, a carnival and more at the 67th Annual Sylvan Beach Festival in La Porte on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

A full day of festivities hits the shores of La Porte with the return of the 67th annual Sylvan Beach Festival.

Held along the waters of Galveston Bay, this historic fest features a country music lineup—headlined by Wade Bowen and Stoney LaRue—which caps off an entire day of family-friendly fun with carnival rides, a barbecue cook-off, arts and crafts, inflatables, a local vendor market and much more.

One of the longest running family traditions across the Texas Gulf Coast, the Sylvan Beach Festival brings together members of La Porte and broader communities for a memorable beach day along a scenic coastline.

A Beach Day Full of Family Fun

The Sylvan Beach Festival kicks off on Saturday morning with the annual Sylvan Beach Day Parade through the streets of downtown La Porte, just a quick stroll away from the fest’s major attractions.

Once there, start your beach day with a look around the grounds from atop a Ferris wheel at the carnival or test your skills at midway games; fill up on beans, chicken, ribs and brisket at the community cook-off; and explore a multitude of family fun activities from mechanical bulls and a gaming trailer to very real gators and hands-on vehicle displays.

As the sun sets on Sylvan Beach, the party keeps rolling into the night thanks to a concert lineup of country music vets.

On the main stage, you can hear the high-energy tunes of locals in the Big Jordan Band, followed by the big gospel country sounds of Larry Fleet. Then, get moving to the rock-infused red dirt country of Stoney LaRue, before Texas-native Wade Bowen brings the festivities to a close.
