- Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo at NRG Park | Daily through Sunday, March 19 – Happening every day of Spring Break, the Houston Rodeo offers full days of carnival fun, festival eats, livestock and petting zoos, a vendor marketplace, and a nightly main event of bronco bustin’ and headlining concerts. Through Spring Break, you can catch performers like Kenny Chesney, Chris Stapleton, Brad Paisley and the Sunday finale concert from Luke Bryan. NRG Park admission is $20 for ages 13 and up; $10 for ages 3 to 12; free for ages 2 and under. Carnival rides, rodeo and concert admission is an additional cost. 8am to 9pm daily.
- The Rink: Rolling at Discovery Green | Monday, March 13 to Friday, March 17 – The Downtown park space closes out its fifth and final week of rollerskating at one of its signature experiences each year. Hit the rink and enjoy DJ tunes and light shows as you glide under the skyscrapers. $12; includes skate rental. 11am to 11pm.
- 18th Annual Pi Day at Children’s Museum Houston | Tuesday, March 14 – Celebrate the infinite, non-repeating number—3.14—as the Children’s Museum closes the street to duke it out in a messy, pie-induced frenzy at the annual Shaving Cream Pi(e) Fight. $15. 10am to 6pm.
- Preservation Hall Jazz Band: 60th Anniversary Celebration at Jones Hall | Tuesday, March 14 – The quintessential New Orleans legends of jazz, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, are celebrating their diamond anniversary by making a musical pilgrimage across the states, stopping in the H along the way. $29 and up. 7:30pm.
- Houston Rockets vs. Los Angeles Lakers at Toyota Center | Wednesday, March 15 – As the season starts to wind down, the Rockets will host a Lakers squad desperate to make the playoffs, led by Anthony Davis. $48 and up. 7pm.
- 7th Annual Houston Latino Film Festival at MATCH | Wednesday, March 15 to Sunday, March 19 – The annual film festival promoting Latino culture among Latinos and other communities has culled nearly 500 worldwide submissions down to an exciting festival lineup that features more than 70 short and feature-length films. Across MATCH’s several stages, the film festival will screen throughout five days, with several screenings accompanied by the filmmakers and directors in attendance. Single screenings are $14; all access passes are $55, $40 for students. Prices increase at the door. Times vary.
- The Savannah Bananas at Constellation Field | Thursday, March 16 to Saturday, March 18 – The viral sensations on the diamond, the Savannah Bananas bring three days of exhibition baseball fun that incorporates hilarious antics, TikTok dances, and more for an unforgettable night at the ballpark. Tickets are sold out at the venue, but you may find hard-to-find tickets using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7pm.
- Moon 2 Mars Festival Concerts at Space Center Houston | Thursday, March 16 to Sunday, March 19 – The week-long celebration of space and NASA’s Artemis missions comes to a close with four days of headlining concerts from American Idol winner David Cook on Thursday; alt-rockers Sister Hazel on Friday; Grammy-winning artist Rick Springfield on Saturday; and Bidi Bidi Banda, a Selena tribute band, on Sunday afternoon. $44.95 and up; $39.95 for ages 4 to 11; free for ages 3 and under. 5:30pm; Sunday at 3pm.
- 16th Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival 2023 near Minute Maid Park | Friday, March 17 – Though no longer held at Lucky’s former signature East Downtown location, this annual St. Patrick’s Day bash spans three city blocks outside of Minute Maid Park, featuring two stages of live music, flowing green beer, bagpipers and more party entertainment. $10 and up. 10am to 2am.
- Nowruz: Persian New Year Celebration at Asia Society Texas Center | Friday, March 17 | FREE – Celebrate the start of spring and the renewal of nature at this evening program with performances, arts and crafts, cultural learning opportunities, stories, food and more. 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
- 100th Anniversary Opening Weekend at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Friday, March 17 & Saturday, March 18 | FREE – Celebrating its centennial this year, Miller Outdoor Theatre kicks off its 100th anniversary with a night of traditional Irish dancing from Trinity Irish Dance Company on St. Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17. Then, on Saturday, everyone is welcome to a roaring ’20s-themed bash with Vaudeville performers, swing dance lessons and more, followed by a concert from the Hot Sardines, a group that celebrates the heart and soul of classic jazz. Friday 8pm; Saturday 6pm, concert at 8pm.
- 20th Annual Seabrook Lucky Trails Celebration at Rex Meador Park | Friday, March 17 to Sunday, March 19 – The all-levels and all ages race weekend, including the “Luckiest Marathon in Texas”, returns to Seabrook for the 20th year, filled with a Kids K, 2 days of 5Ks and half marathons, a quarter-length and full marathon, plus a 4-person relay race. St. Pat’s costumes are encouraged and the after party will boast a costume contest, green beer, great food, and more. Times vary.
- The Oddities & Curiosities Expo at George R. Brown Convention Center | Saturday, March 18 – Shop bizarre, uncommon and all-things-weird at this day-long expo in Downtown, featuring a slate of hand-selected vendors, artists and small businesses doling out goods in taxidermy, original artwork, horror and Halloween inspired pieces, antiques, creepy clothing and more. $10 and up. 10am to 6pm.
- Houston Dynamo FC vs Austin FC at Shell Energy Stadium | Saturday, March 18 – After kicking off a new season on the road, the Dynamo face nearby rivals for their home opener to the 2023 MLS season. $25 and up. 7:30pm.
- Comedian Druski at Smart Financial Centre | Saturday, March 18 – There’s not much Druski hasn’t done, from collaborating with rappers like Drake, Lil Yachty and Jack Harlow to cultivating an online following of more than 5 millions fans eager to see his comedic skits and celebrity-filled adventures. He’ll be stopping by Sugar Land for a one-night only performance. $39.75 and up. 8pm.
- Spring Vibe Market at Post Houston | Saturday, March 18 & Sunday, March 19 | No Cover – More than 300 local artists, creatives and small business vendors will be on hand at this 2-day market at Post Houston in Downtown. Visitors can also enjoy DJ tunes, complimentary cocktails, photo ops, food and more. 11am to 5pm.
