All Weekend Long

  • 2023 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo at NRG Park | Daily | Ongoing – This year’s Rodeo kicks off on Tuesday, offering three weeks of carnival fun, festival eats, livestock and petting zoos, a vendor marketplace, and a nightly main event of bronco bustin’ and headlining concerts. Weekend performers include Lauren Daigle, Bun B’s H-Town Takeover, Walker Hayes and Zac Brown Band, but you can also enjoy the carnival atmosphere and show grounds throughout the day. NRG Park admission is $20 for ages 13 and up; $10 for ages 3 to 12; free for ages 2 and under. Carnival rides, rodeo and concert admission is an additional cost. 10am to midnight; rodeo and concert performances begin at 6:45pm.
  • 23rd Shriners Children’s College Classic at Minute Maid Park | Friday to Sunday – The Annual Astros Foundation tradition is back for its 23rd installment as Louisville, Michigan, Rice, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and TCU take the field for a nine-game tournament across the weekend. $20 and up; tickets are good for all three games that day. A 3-day pass starts at $45. 11am to 9pm.
  • Comedian Stavros Halkias at Houston Improv | Friday to Sunday The comedian, actor and writer makes a stop in Houston as part of the Fat Rascal Tour. $140 and up, for 4. Times vary
  • Montgomery County Home & Outdoor Living Show at Lone Star Convention & Expo Center | Saturday & Sunday – Find home goods, get inspo for DIY projects, connect with home improvement professionals and more at this weekend event north of Houston. $8 in advance; $10 at the door. Times vary
  • William Clark Green in Concert at Main Street Crossing | Thursday & Friday – The Texas singer-songwriter brings tunes to the Tomball stage for back-to-back nights. $52 and up. Times vary

  • Cowboy Bob at Alley Theatre | Friday to Sunday | Opening Weekend – Loosely based on the story of Texas bankrobber Peggy Jo, this world premiere explores a Texas legend with genre-bending music. $40 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • Dirt Dogs Theatre presents Misery at MATCH | Friday to Sunday | Opening Weekend – Based on the Stephen King novel, this play follows the story of a romance novelist rescued by his “number-one fan.” When she finds out he’s about to kill off her favorite character, she holds him hostage. $30. Showtimes vary.
  • Moulin Rouge! The Musical at Hobby Center | Daily | Ongoing – Baz Luhrmann’s revolutionary film comes to life onstage in this Tony Award–winning Best Musical, remixed in a new musical mash-up extravaganza, a theatrical celebration of “Truth, Beauty, Freedom, and—above all—Love!” $35 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • Stages presents cullud wattah at the Gordy | Daily | Ongoing – This multi-generational saga unfolds against the backdrop of the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. The New York Times called it “haunting and eye-opening.” It follows a family’s quest for justice, going up against powerful entities, and how that quest could be its undoing. $30 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • Permanent Collection at Main Street Theater | Daily | Final Weekend – Who controls art? Who decides what should be seen? Those are just two of the questions raised in this play that finds an African American businessman, newly named head of a renowned art collection, at odds with the collection’s director of education over his proposal to change the collection by adding eight pieces of art. $44 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • Stages presents Roe at the Gordy | Daily | Final Weekend – An examination of the repercussions of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, this play by Lisa Loomer focuses on two women, Sarah Weddington, who argued the case before the Supreme Court; and Norma McCorvey, a/k/a “Jane Roe.” $30 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • Catastrophic Theatre presents Eddie Goes to Poetry City at MATCH | Thursday to Saturday | Final Weekend – Eddie imagines that Poetry City must be paradise. But when he gets there, he finds himself disoriented in a place that “melts language.” This production runs through Saturday, March 4. Tickets are pay-what-you-can; suggested price of $35. Showtimes vary.
  • Houston Ballet presents Romeo & Juliet at Wortham Center | Friday to Sunday | Final Weekend – Stanton Welch’s production of the classic tale of star-crossed lovers reimagines Renaissance Italy through dazzling costumes and fresh choreography. $25 and up. Showtimes vary.

  • Party at the Pavilion at Bellaire Town Square | FREE – Bring the whole family out to this outdoor concert in Bellaire, featuring music by Mango Punch and food from It’s A Wrap. 7pm.
  • Houston Playback Theatre at the Jung Center – This evening of improv theatre is sparked by the true stories of audience members—a story, a thought or a feeling—brought to life by a chain reaction of improvisation. $15. 7pm to 8:30pm.
  • Future March Madness Night Light Bike Ride at 3rd Ward Tours LetsDoThisHouston hosts this cruising bike ride through the city while vibing to the sounds of Atlanta rapper, Future. $11 and up; bike rentals available. 7pm to 9:30pm.
  • Tiger Ball 2023: Celebrating the Beauty & Elegance of Japan at Asia Society Texas This year’s gala explores Japan’s unique culture and heritage. The event honors Kathy and Glen Gondo, and features dinner, dancing and an auction. Proceeds from the evening benefit Asia Society’s programming. $2,000 and up. 7pm to 10:30pm.
  • Kinetic Ensemble presents Her Story at the MATCH The ensemble celebrates Women’s History Month with a concert featuring music by female composers, highlighted by the world premiere of “Home,” a multidisciplinary piece from composer Nicky Sohn, choreographer Kayle Collymore and violinist Mary Grace Johnson. $30. 7:30pm.
  • Wizkid in Concert at Toyota Center – One of Nigeria’s biggest stars, a giant of the Afrobeats scene who boasts collabs with some of music’s biggest stars like Drake and Skepta is taking over the Toyota Center stage when he brings his More Love, Less Ego tour through the Bayou City. $39.50 and up. 7:30pm.
