  • Luca Movie Screening at First Colony Mall | Friday, August 11 | FREE – Bring the family to watch an outdoor screening of the 2021 Disney Pixar movie, Luca, at First Colony Mall. Luca is a young boy having an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides with his new buddy—but he has a secret and all of the fun might come to an end if someone finds out he is a sea monster. 7pm.
  • Food Truck Friday: Wall-E Movie Screening at Oyster Creek Park in Sugar Land | Friday, August 12 | FREE – Pull out a blanket and chairs for a fun-filled evening in Sugar Land. Kick off the night with dinner or dessert from local food trucks, then cuddle up for a screening of Disney’s 2008 animated film, Wall-E, under the stars. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Flick & Float: Back to School Bash at Conroe Waterpark | Friday, August 12 – Bring a noodle and relax in the pool as Conroe Waterpark screens a family-friendly movie, complete with free root beer and popcorn, too. $5. 7pm.
  • YMCA Kids Duathlon at Holcomb Family YMCA | Saturday, August 13 – Kiddos ages 7 to 15 are invited to register for this duathlon in Spring, which will have participants competing in three segments that feature run and bike legs. Registration is $42, closing on Tuesday, August 9. 7:30am.
  • Mayor’s Back 2 School Event at George R. Brown Convention Center | Saturday, August 13 | FREE – The annual back-to-school fest offers families of Houston-area elementary school students a chance to prepare for the return to the hallways with a school supply and backpack distribution. 8am to 2pm, until supplies last.
  • YUMMY! Summer Cooking Classes at MKT Bar | Saturday, August 13 – In Downtown, Phoenicia hosts this cooking class which teaches kiddos how to make a cake, assemble a delicious pizza, churn ice cream and decorate cookies for a delicious afternoon lunch. $65 per child. 10am to 2pm.
  • The Secret Life of Squirrels at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center | Saturday, August 13 – Learn all about three Houston squirrel species—Eastern Gray, Fox, and Southern Flying—and how they play essential roles in our ecosystem. $35. 10:30am.
  • Second Saturday: Stuart Little Movie Screening at The Depot in Tomball | Saturday, August 13 | FREE – Grab lawn chairs, blankets, and your favorite snacks and head to the Tomball Depot Plaza for a screening of the classic 1999 family film, Stuart Little. 8:15pm.
  • Self-Cafe Sunday Funday at M-K-T | Sunday, August 14 | FREE – Explore free crafts for kiddos and all the many joys that self-care can bring at this Sunday Funday event that also features interactive wellness activities, local vendor pop-ups, a live DJ, and more. Noon to 4pm.
  • Jump Jump Kids Festival at Bayou City Event Center | Sunday, August 14 – More than 30 bounce houses come together in South Houston for an afternoon of local vendors doling out snow cones and shaved ices, plus burgers, ice cream, and more. All day passes start at $20. 1pm to 9pm.
  • Summer Block Parties at Levy Park | Sunday, August 14 | FREE – In the Greenway Plaza area, get grooving to tunes from DJ Mohawk Steve and Legacy Man, plus enjoy bubble stations, games and other children’s activities at Levy Park’s Summer Block Party. 5pm to 9pm.
