• Comedian Kate Willet at the Secret Group | Thursday & Friday – Known for her stints on The Late Show, Netflix’s Comedy Lineup, and the comedy festival circuit, Kate Willet brings her raunchy feminist standup routine to Houston for a two-night engagement. $15 and up. Times vary. 
• For Ellen, a Group Show at Hardy & Nance Studios | Friday & Saturday | FREE – Home to all styles and mediums, Hardy & Nance Studios presents a show featuring 32 local artists, including DUAL, Chris Cascio, Paul Kremer, Emily Peacock, Ellen Brown and many others. 5pm to 11pm.
• The Riot Comedy Show presents Brian Scolaro at Rudyard’s Pub | Friday & Saturday – Best known for his stints on Comedy Central, Conan, and ABC’s A Million Little Things, the comedian and actor brings the laughs to Montrose for two nights. $15 and up. Times vary.

• Taco, Tequila & Trivia Night at Revelry on Richmond | No Cover – Enjoy $3 tacos and $5 infused tequilas as Geeks Who Drink lead a live weekly trivia game. 8pm
• Live Nation Concert Week | Ends Today – Score $25 All In Tickets—which includes all ticketing fees—for more than 3,700 upcoming shows around the U.S., including Houston shows like Ben Rector, Coheed & Cambria, Encanto: The Sing Along Film Concert, Danzig, Cheer Live, Incubus, Haim, New Kids on the Block, Los Angeles Azules, Steely Dan, Swedish House Mafia, and more. $25.

• Makers United Houston: East End Maker Hub Event | FREE with RSVP – Learn how to fund and finance your maker-business or projects—and meet other local makers and service providers—at a special panel discussion and social hour in the East End. 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
• Raising the Steaks Wednesday at Bottled Blonde | No Cover – Belly up for steaks and drinks at the Washington Ave hotspot’s weekly steak night. Happy hour to 7pm. 6pm to 11pm.
• Bob Scheinder in Concert at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck – The Upper Kirby stage welcomes the Austin-based musician and former lead singer of the rock band Ugly Americans, Bob Schneider for two live sets. $50. 7pm and 9:30pm.
• Give Them Lala Live at House of Blues – House of Blues welcomes American TV personality (best known from Vanderpump Rules), podcaster, best-selling author and business woman, Lala Kent. $42.50 and up. 8pm. 

Thursday, May 12, 2022  

• Sunset Silent Disco at the Ion in Midtown | FREE – Pop on head phones and join the party, dancing while the sun goes down and casts its on Downtown, with live DJs, free drinks, and more evening fun as the brand new Ion in Midtown continues its weeklong Activation Festival. 5pm to 8pm.
• Bludorn & Truth BBQ Live Fire Event at Bludorn – Wear your favorite stretchy pants and enjoy a four-course pre-fixe dinner from Houston favorites Bludorn and Truth BBQ to benefit World Central Kitchen’s work in Ukraine. $195. 5pm to 9pm. 
• Harry Potter Trivia at Walking Stick Brewing Company – Flex your knowledge of everything Harry Potter at the Heights brewery’s trivia night, including 70 original questions and a final wizard duel. $8 and up. 7pm to 9pm. 
• Girl Ultra & Tee Vee in Concert at Discovery Green | FREE – Part of the free Thursday concert series, check out the R&B sounds of Mexico City-based Girl Ultra who will be joined on stage by Houston’s own, Tee Vee. 7pm to 9:30pm. 
• Olivia Rodrigo in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The Grammy-winning pop artist is coming off a big year as Time’s 2021 Entertainer of the Year and Billboard’s 2022 Woman of the Year, not to mention the top honors awarded for her debut studio album, Sour, which brings her to 713 Music Hall in Downtown. Tickets are sold out at the venue, but you may find hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 8pm. 
• Mudhoney & Meat Puppets in Concert at the Heights Theater – The grunge legends out of Seattle pass through Houston during the U.S. leg of their 2022 tour, along with the punk rock band, Meat Puppets. $24 and up. 8pm. 

Friday, May 13, 2022 

• Activation Festival: Ion Block Party in Midtown | FREE – Cap off a weeklong celebration of the newly opened Ion at a big, all-ages block party event, complete with live music from Empire 6, food trucks and vendors, arcade machines and lawn games, a roving photo booth, Houston sports mascots, startup founders and booths, possibly the biggest fireworks spectacular to ever grace Midtown, and more. 5pm to 9:30pm.
• Party on the Plaza: Reputation at Avenida Houston | FREE – In one of the last Party on the Plaza’s in Downtown, you can singalong to all the hits of Taylor Swift courtesy of the tribute act, Reputation. 6pm to 9pm.
• Noche de Cumbia at Axelrad | No Cover – Shake your hips to the cumbia rhythms when Axelrad’s special guest DJs play the hits on the outdoor stage. 7pm.
• Kung Fu Film Nights: The Grandmaster Movie Screening at Asia Society Texas Center – Asia Society Texas’s Kung Fu Film Nights series presents an outdoor screening of The Grandmaster (2013) on the festival lawn, along with a complimentary beer and cocktail, plus free popcorn for the first 20 arrivals. $10. 8pm.  
• Maxo Kream in Concert at Warehouse Live – The Houston rapper brings songs from his latest, Weight of the World, and other tracks to the stage in EaDo. $35 in advance; $40 at the door. 8pm.
• James Hype in Concert at Stereo Live – The English DJ, producer and remix artist comes to the West Houston nightclub to spin tunes and vibe with the crowd. $15. 10pm to 2am.

Saturday, May 14, 2022 

• Wiener Dog Derby at Little Woodrow’s Midtown | No Cover – Bring your Dachshund or pick your winner for the Wiener Dog Derby at the Midtown outpost of the popular Little Woodrow’s drinkery. 2pm.
• Houston Pets Alive! presents Dog Fest at Powder Keg | No Cover – Get ready for a doggone good time with a day of themed fun, including a “Goodest Dog” competition, free dog training, craft beverages, food trucks, dog adoptions, and more. 2pm to 6pm. 
• 5th Annual Sundress & Shorts Crawfish & Zydeco Festival at BH Ranch – Get a taste of Louisiana at this crawfish and zydeco shindig featuring a lineup of live music talent, crawfish and DJ tunes. $35 and up. 2pm.
• 2nd Annual Lola’s Lucky Day Party & Puppy Yoga at FM Kitchen & Bar | No Cover – The original FM location on Shepherd hosts an daytime celebration complete with puppy yoga, cornhole competitions, raffles, and drink specials to raise money to support Lola’s Lucky Day dog rescue and adoption. $25 donation in advance; $30 at the door gets you two drink tickets and a raffle ticket. 2:30pm to 7pm.
• Texas Cigar Festival at NRG Park – If you are a lover of the leaf, get access to exclusive cigars, meet and greets, giveaways, and specials at this year’s event. $195 and up. 5pm to 9pm.
• Jazz Picnic in the Park with Raquel Cepeda in Downtown – Jazz singer-songwriter Raquel Cepeda performs at a beautiful Downtown Houston park in this concert series that provides a spring picnic basket for attendees, including charcuterie or sandwiches and a sweet treat. $90 per picnic for 2. Address will be sent upon order. 6pm.
• Still Woozy in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – The California-based singer-songwriter known as Still Woozy brings his blend of electronic and acoustic sounds to White Oak in support of his latest album, Pool. Remaining tickets are $82. 7pm. 
• Pink Moon Cabaret at Social Beer Garden | FREE with RSVP – Pink Moon Cabaret, Houston’s only live jazz and burlesque show, performs live music accompanied by burlesque dancers. 7pm to 9:30pm.
• Ho99o9 in Concert at Satellite Bar – On the last Texas stop of their 2022 Skin tour, the hip-hop/punk rock group performs material from their latest album, Skin, in EaDo. $20. 8pm. 
• Rebirth Brass Band with Bayou City Funk in Concert at Warehouse Live – Find the funk groove when NOLA’s Grammy-winning Rebirth Brass Band celebrates their 35th anniversary, joined by Houston’s own Bayou City Funk. $20 and up. 8pm.
• James Hype at Stereo Live Houston – The English DJ, producer, and remix artist takes to the stacks for an evening of dancing and fun. 10pm.

Sunday, May 15, 2022 

• Anthony Green, Laura Jane Grace & Tim Kasher in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – This trio of punk rock performers decided against solo tours and opted for a more collaborative experience that they call the Carousel tour. $25. 6pm. 
• Super Happy Sunday Funday at Eureka Heights Brewing Co | No Cover – Partnering with Super Happy Incredible Toys, this Halfway to Halloween Swap Meet finds toy and art vendors, beer, movies on the big screen, food trucks and more at Eureka Heights’ monthly event. 6pm.
• Damien Escobar in Concert at House of Blues – Considered one of the world’s top violinists and a self-proclaimed retiree, Damien Escobar takes to the stage once again performing music from his decades-long career. $30 and up. 8pm.
• Dehd in Concert at Warehouse Live – With their new album Water about to drop, the Chicago punk rock trio takes the stage in Downtown. $16. 8pm.
