  • Theatre Under the Stars presents Jersey Boys at Hobby Center | Ongoing – Go behind the music and inside the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons in the Tony- and Grammy Award–winning true-life musical phenomenon, Jersey Boys. $40 and up. Times vary
  • Activation Festival at The Ion | Monday, May 9 to Friday, May 13 | FREE – All week long, Houstonians can get their first glimpse at The Ion, a brand new innovation hub in Midtown that offers space for the city’s entrepreneurial, corporate and academic communities. Every day features a new slate of programming, including a silent disco party on Thursday and a block party on Friday night to wrap up the festivities. Free with registration. Times vary.
  • Makers United Houston: East End Maker Hub Event | Wednesday, May 11 | FREE with RSVP – Learn how to fund and finance your maker-business or projects—and meet other local makers and service providers—at a special panel discussion and social hour in the East End. 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
  • Bob Scheinder in Concert at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck | Wednesday, May 11 – The Upper Kirby stage welcomes the Austin-based musician and former lead singer of the rock band Ugly Americans, Bob Schneider for two live sets. $50. 7pm and 9:30pm. 
  • Give Them Lala Live at House of Blues | Wednesday, May 11 – House of Blues welcomes American TV personality (best known from Vanderpump Rules), podcaster, best-selling author and business woman, Lala Kent. $42.50 and up. 8pm. 
  • Urban Green: Ticket to Ride at Hermann Park | Thursday, May 12 – Take a train ride, a pedal boat cruise, and enjoy food and drinks from Raising Cane’s, Saint Arnold Brewery, William Price Distilling, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, and more. $15 and up. 6pm to 8pm. 
  • Kung Fu Film Nights: The Grandmaster Movie Screening at Asia Society Texas Center | Friday, May 13 – Asia Society Texas’s Kung Fu Film Nights series presents an outdoor screening of The Grandmaster (2013) on the festival lawn, along with a complimentary beer and cocktail, plus free popcorn for the first 20 arrivals. $10. 8pm. 
  • Houston Ballet at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Friday, May 13 & Saturday, May 14 | FREE – Miller Outdoor Theatre welcomes Houston Ballet for two nights of a free dance showcase, highlighting the company’s internationally recognized company of dancers. 8pm.
  • Heartmade Art Market at Market Square Park | Saturday, May 14 | No Cover – Shop local artists and talented Texas vendors at this juried art market that posts up in Downtown’s Market Square Park. 10am to 5pm.
  • AAPI Festival at Houston Public Library–Downtown | Saturday, May 14 | FREE – Head to the outdoor Barbara Bush Literacy Plaza to celebrate the Houston Asian American Pacific Islander community with dance performances, bilingual storytime, crafts, and more. 11am to 1pm. 
  • Houston Pets Alive! presents Dog Fest at Powder Keg | Saturday, May 14 | No Cover – Get ready for a doggone good time with a day of themed fun, including a “Goodest Dog” competition, free dog training, craft beverages, food trucks, dog adoptions, and more. 2pm to 6pm. 
  • The Eagles: Hotel California Tour 2022 at Toyota Center | Saturday, May 14 – Bust out your pocket lighters when the Eagles come to town to perform Hotel California from beginning to end, plus a set of the iconic rock band’s greatest hits. $129 and up. 8pm. 
  • Galveston Historic Homes Tour on Galveston Island | Saturday, May 14 & Sunday, May 15 – Step into architectural history on the island when the Historic Homes Tour returns with public walkthroughs of privately owned homes and some of the longest-standing structures in Galveston. $40. 10am to 6pm.
  • Galveston Family Beach Challenge at East Beach | Sunday, May 15 | FREE – Get competitive as a family at a larger-than-life obstacle course on Galveston’s East Beach. Families will vie for gift cards and VIP tickets to Galveston attractions by competing through 14 stations for kids and adults, including games like bean bag toss, a life-size Battleship, limbo, volley balloon, and more. Free, but registration is required. 11am to 4:30pm. 
  • Family Day: Over the Moon at Bayou Bend Collection & Gardens | Sunday, May 15 | FREE – Explore our relationship to the moon and other celestial bodies at this family-friendly afternoon event that includes a workshop from Space Center Houston, lawn games, art-making activities, puppetry and more. 1pm to 5pm. 
  • Michelle Zauner in Conversation with Bryan Washington at Asia Society Texas Center  | Sunday, May 15 – Asia Society Texas welcomes indie rockstar and New York Times best-selling author of Crying in H Mart, Michelle Zauner in conversation with acclaimed Houston author Bryan Washington for a conversation on the development of Zauner’s memoir, the origins and successes of her band Japanese Breakfast, writing about food, and how her family and Korean heritage has influenced her art. $20. 7pm.
