- Walk to End Lupus at Texas Southern University | FREE – Join the Lupus Foundation’s Gulf Coast Chapter in efforts to find a cure for lupus with their annual fundraising walk. Registration required. 8am.
- History Boat Tour at Allen’s Landing – Take to the water and listen to the history of how Houston was formed, including the roles Buffalo Bayou and the Allen Brothers had in its creation. $40. 10am to 11:30am.
- We Don’t Talk About Bruno at Children’s Museum Houston – We don’t talk about Bruno, unless there is a fun Encanto-themed event and meet-n-greet with the stars of the film, Bruno and Mirabel. $15 for ages 1 and up. 10am to 2pm.
- Pearland Boutique Shop & Hop at Multiple Locations | No Cover – Perfect for Mother’s Day shopping, this boutique crawl in Pearland features shopping at eight of the city’s most popular stores. 10am to 5pm.
- Mother’s Day Tea at George Ranch Historical Park – Celebrate Mother’s Day in the Victorian era with tea and cakes at the Davis Mansion while learning about the etiquette, marriage customs, and fashion of the times. $20. Seating at 11am and 3pm.
- Heights Mercantile Mother’s Day Market 2022 | No Cover – Find one-of-a-kind gifts for the mothers in your life as Heights Mercantile Mother’s Day Market 2022 returns with pop-up shopping on the promenade along E. 7th St. between Heights Blvd and Yale St. 11am to 6pm.
- Celebrez en Rosé 2022: A Wine & Music Festival at the Water Works at Buffalo Bayou Park – Slip into pink and white attire to celebrate everything Rosé, including the wines, Champagne, food pairings, live music, photo opportunities, and more. $65. 11am to 9pm.
- Cinco De Mayo Celebration at B-52 Brewing | No Cover – Enjoy a new beer release, delicious Mexican food from La Birria Tacos, plus Carmen’s Corn & Creations, Gotta Roll and Tijuas Candies, and a live performance from a mariachi band at Conroe’s B-52 Brewing. Noon to 10pm.
- Derby Wine Fest 2022 at Brenner’s on the Bayou – This annual festival, with the lovely Buffalo Bayou as its backdrop, is back with over 20 award-winning wines, live music, and gourmet bites. $125 and up. 2pm to 6pm.
- Treble Choir of Houston Spring Concert at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church | FREE – The award-winning Treble Choir of Houston, under the direction of founder and artistic director Marianna Parnas-Simpson, returns to the stage in West University for their annual concert. 3pm.
- Taco Showdown at Little Woodrow’s EaDo | No Cover – Individuals and food vendors vie for the title of Best Tacos in Houston at this fun event featuring prizes, drink specials, and more. 3pm.
- Cinco De Mayo Party at Sugar Land Town Square | FREE – Experience a mix of salsa, boleros, merengues and traditional cumbias when Grupo Batachá performs at Sugar Land Town Square. 4pm to 6pm.
- Festival of Eid at Asia Society Texas Center | FREE – Mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan at this Asia Society festival that features outdoor food trucks and delicious eats, as well as craft activities, henna designs, musical performances and an indoor bazaar where you can shop local artists and small businesses. Pre-registration is required. 4pm to 8pm.
- The Generation Park Block Party at Redemption Square | FREE – Enjoy carnival games, live music, a kids zone, and food trucks at this third annual event to benefit the grant and scholarship efforts of Lake Houston Rotary. RSVP required. 4pm to 10pm.
- Imperfectly Perfect Opening Reception at Archway Gallery | FREE – Swing through the Montrose gallery to see Mohammad Ali Bhatti’s newest works, a selection of vibrant canvas paintings that incorporate acrylics, acrylic inks and oil pastels. 5pm to 8pm.
- Grady Spencer & The Work in Concert at Lake Houston Brewery | FREE – The Ft. Worth-based band arrives in North Houston for a free show supporting their latest album, Wait. 7pm to 9pm.
- MercyMe in Concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – Named Billboard’s Top Christian Artists and winner of multiple AMAs and Dove Awards, Mercy Me performs in the Woodlands on their Inhale (Exhale) tour. $26 and up. 7pm.
- Turnpike Troubadours at the Lawn at White Oak Music Hall – Performing together for the first time since their self-imposed hiatus in 2019, the Turnpike Troubadors arrive at White Oak for their highly-anticipated concert. Tickets are sold out at the venue, but you may find hard-to-get tickets using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7pm.
- Texas Medical Center Orchestra presents Celebration of Hope at Hobby Center – Listen to the melodic sounds of one of the few orchestras with origins in the medical field, featuring 2019 YTA Concerto Competition winner Artem Kuznetsov. $25. 7pm.
- Empty Box 2022: Boombox at Box 13 Art Space | No Cover – Celebrating their 14th year of bringing affordable studio space to artists from across the country, Box 13 Art Space is bringing the ’80s back with music, light bites, cocktails, a silent auction, and raffle. 7pm to 10pm.
- Apollo Chamber Players presents American Legends at University of Houston–Clear Lake | Saturday, May 7 – Apollo Chamber Players closes its season with the live world premiere of In the Shadow of the Mountain by Jennifer Higdon, the world’s most performed female living composer. $25. 7:30pm.
- Houston Grand Opera presents Romeo & Juliet at Wortham Theater Center – Take a fresh look at Shakespeare’s age-old tale of star-crossed lovers in Verona, featuring the Houston Grand Opera debut of soloist Adriana Gonzalez. $20 and up. 7:30pm.
- Pancakes & Booze Art Show at Warehouse Live – The extremely popular touring boozy art show returns to its EaDo home, complete with free pancakes. $10. 8pm to 2am.
- Disney’s Encanto Movie Screening at Discovery Green | FREE – Bring a blanket and watch Encanto under the stars in Downtown Houston. 8:30pm to 10:30pm.
- Pesado in Concert at Arena Theatre – Passing through Southwest Houston by way of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Pesado plays the Norteño-style music they are known for. $84 and up. 8:30pm.

- Boozy Chocolate Truffles Cooking Class at Clutch Distilling – Chocolate or cocktails? In this two-hour cooking class, you combine the best of both worlds with Chef Crys from Classpop. $55. 4pm to 6pm.
- Ponies & Petals Cup: Mother’s Day at Houston Polo Club – Pony up for a special Mother’s Day match, complete with Best Ladies Hat Contest, plus door prizes, expert announcing, a Champagne divot stomp at halftime, and live flamenco guitar music. - Houston Latin American Philharmonic presents Mother’s Day Serenade at Wortham Theater Center – The Houston Latin American Philharmonic presents its annual Mother’s Day Serenade with special guest and international star José Luis Rodriguez, known artistically as “El Puma.” $29 and up. 6:30pm.
- Coldplay in Concert at NRG Stadium – Building on the critically-acclaimed release of late 2021’s Music of the Spheres, the pop rock band known the world over will grace the stage at Houston’s biggest venue for a night of their latest tunes and singalong hits. $57 and up, but you may find hard-to-get, better, or cheaper seats on the online resale market. 7pm.
- Beatles Tribute: The Fab 40 in Concert at Discovery Green | FREE – Witness a spectacular musical tribute with over 40 musicians on stage, including a strings and horn section, that recreates the iconic sound of the Beatles. 7pm to 8:30pm.
- The Who in Concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – Legendary rock band The Who takes the stage, bringing original band members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend back to the U.S. after a two-year break. $33 and up, but you may find hard-to-get, better or cheaper seats on the online resale market. 7:30pm.
