  • Spring Nutcracker Market at NRG Center | Daily – The annual Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market re-opens in a new shopping window this year, with a spring spectacular that features all the familiar seasonal items you’ve come to love, plus summer apparel, vacation accessories, gourmet foods, and more across nearly 150 vendors. One-day tickets are $18 in advance; $20 at the door. Times vary.
  • The Legendary Art Car Ball at the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art | Friday, April 8 – Show off your wild and colorful side on one of the most vibrant, exciting nights of the year at the Legendary Art Car Ball. Enjoy performances from Golden Dak Arkestra, Bayou City Comeback Chorus, Houston’s A.S.S., DJ Boogie Soul, plus artist installations, food vendors and more. $35 and up. 6pm to 11pm.
  • Movies at Miller: In the Heights at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Friday, April 8 | FREE – The Hermann Park theater hosts a screening of the 2021 musical drama based on Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award-winning stage musical of the same name. No tickets required. 8pm.
  • 35th Annual Houston Art Car Parade in Downtown | Saturday, April 9 | FREE – One of Houston’s most beloved events is back this spring, and taking place in memory of Ann O’Connor Williams Harithas, who helped found the Art Car Parade. This event sees more than 250 vehicles featuring extraordinarily creative and imaginative art touches parading the streets near Downtown. Houston rap legend Bun B has been named as the 2022 Grand Marshal, and you can expect kids activity stations and more at Sam Houston Park. 11am.

  • Charli XCX in Concert at House of Blues | Saturday, April 9 – The English synth pop songwriter appears at Downtown’s House of Blues to perform her latest release, the critically acclaimed Crash. $34.50. 8pm.
  • Ricardo Arjona in Concert at Toyota Center | Saturday, April 9 – The Guatemalan singer-songwriter and one of the best-selling Latin American artists of all time comes to Downtown to perform songs from his latest albums, 2020’s Blanco and 2021’s Negro. $60.99 and up. 8pm.
  • Comedian Atsuko Okatsuka at the Secret Group | Saturday, April 9 – The comedian and writer, who just recently had a debut on the talk show circuit with The Late Late Show with James Corden, swings through the EaDo comedy venue for a side-splitting night of her observations and personal tales. $15 in advance; $20 day of the show. 8pm.
  • 2022 Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival at Town Green Park | Saturday, April 9 & Sunday, April 10 – A sure signal that spring is here, the 17th Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival brings more than 200 accomplished artists out to the Waterway shores and surrounds the with live music, entertainment, and food and drink. $15 per day; $20 for a weekend pass; free for ages 12 and under. 10am to 6pm both days.
  • 17th Annual Frida Festival at TBH Center / MECA East End | Saturday, April 9 & Sunday, April 10 | FREE – Celebrate all things Frida Kahlo at an East End festival featuring lively music, performances, a Frida-inspired fashion show, vendors, food trucks, and plenty of people dressed up as one of Mexico’s most beloved and legendary artists. The weekend also kicks off with a ticketed event on Friday night. 11am to 7pm both days.

  • Chef Fest 2022 at Harvest Green Village Farm | Sunday, April 10 – Guests are invited to the Richmond farm to celebrate the agricultural offerings of the Houston region through the lens of local chefs, Texas beverage brands, area musicians, and Harvest Green farmers. Get small bites from this year’s participating chefs including Top Chef Season 19 contestant Evelyn Garcia (KIN) as well as Angelo Emiliani (Angie’s Pizza and Café Louie), David Cordua (The Lymbar), Jeff Potts (93’Til), Martha Wilcox (Indianola), Michelle Wallace (Gatlin’s BBQ), Paris Anton (Vegan AF-ish) and Victoria Elizondo (Cochinita & Co.). Plus, enjoy add-on experiences including a soft-serve station, chef-led kids’ cooking class, and pickling and fermenting session. $95 ($20 for ages 5 to 16) and includes unlimited bites, five drink tickets, farm tours and live music. Noon to 4pm.
  • Astros FanFest at Minute Maid Park | Sunday, April 10 – The annual family-friendly FanFest returns to Minute Maid, giving fans an afternoon of ballpark fun, with autograph sessions, photo ops, games, and a watch party to see the Astros close out their opening series of the season in Anaheim. $1. 1pm to 3pm. 
  • Houston Rockets vs. Atlanta Hawks at Toyota Center | Sunday, April 10 – It’s Fan Appreciation Night on the final home game of the regular season before the Rockets turn their attention to this summer’s draft. $8 and up. 2:30pm.
  • Queen of Tejano Tribute at Houston Botanic Garden | Sunday, April 10 – Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and singalong to the hits of Selena at this tribute concert held at the beautiful grounds of Houston Botanic Garden in South Houston. $15. 3pm.
  • Comedian Kanan Gill at Hobby Center | Sunday, April 10 – As seen in his comedy specials, Keep It Real on Amazon Prime and Yours Sincerely, Kanan Gill on Netflix, the Indian stand-up comic makes a special appearance at Downtown’s Hobby Center. $39.50 and up. 5pm.
  • Ice Cube & Scarface in Concert at Smart Financial Centre | Sunday, April 10 – Rap legends unite in Sugar Land when Ice Cube and Scarface take the stage at Smart Financial Centre. $29 and up. 7pm.
