  • Lunar New Year Celebrations & Events Around Houston | Saturday & Sunday | Most FREE – Although the Year of the Tiger doesn’t officially arrive until next Tuesday, there are plenty of events this weekend and next to bounce into the new year with a roar. Times and locations vary.
  • SPORTSKIND: Houston’s Finest Sports League | Daily | Winter & Spring 2022 Registration Now Open − Whether you’re a novice, or seasoned athletes, SPORTSKIND Houston offers local sports leagues that you can join, play, and reap the emotional and physical gains of team sports like soccer, indoor volleyball and sand volleyball, softball, basketball, flag football, and kickball—plus more social competitive leagues like Pickleball and Cornhole.

  • 4th Annual Gumbo Cook-off at Cedar Creek Bar & Grill | No Cover – Help decide whose roux will reign supreme at winter gumbo cookoff complete with tastings, drinks, live music from Heights Funk Collective and tunes spun by DJ Dayta. 1pm to 6pm.
  • The Velcro Pygmies at Rise Rooftop − The Louisville rock band rolls into H-Town for an early evening show in Midtown. $12. 6pm. 
  • Comedian Ronny Chieng at House of Blues – Appearing as Jon Jon in the Marvel blockbuster, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, as well as a senior correspondent on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, the award-winning Malaysian comedian performs two sets in Downtown$35. 7pm and 9pm.
  • Bayou City Funk & The Watters in Concert at The Heights Theater – Catch a double-header concert in the Heights showcasing local favorites Bayou City Funk and Austin’s beloved soul/rock/Americana group The Watters. $18. 8pm.
  • Taylor Fest at Warehouse Live – Swifties will celebrate the career-spanning works of Taylor Swift’s extensive catalog including smash hits and deep cuts, a photobooth, drink specials, and guest DJs. $12 in advance; $15 day of show. 9pm.
  • Morgan Page at Stereo Live – The Grammy-nominated prog house producer and DJ brings an ethereal mix of songs and popular remixes to the West Houston stage. $10 to $35. 10pm to 2am.
  • Sublime: Yaya at Rise Rooftop − Italian DJ, producer and owner of Tamango Records takes to the decks at Rise in Midtown, with local DJS from HTX and ATX opening. $20. 10pm to 3am.
