  • The 12 Dames of Christmas at the George Theater | Monday, December 13 & Tuesday, December 14 – Emmy-nominee Angela Ingersoll channels the voices of a dozen divas—including Judy Garland, Julie Andrews, and Janis Joplin—in this crowd-pleasing yuletide spectacular in Uptown. Starts at $36. Showtimes vary.
  • Holiday Twilight Tour at Rienzi | Wednesday, December 15 – The MFAH decorative arts museum opens its doors and welcomes guests to explore the galleries and gardens, with festive holiday decor and music.$35; $30 members. 6pm to 8pm.
  • 3rd Annual Hometown Holidays at Silver Sycamore | Starts Wednesday, December 15 – Stroll through a magical walking trail of lights, take in live performances, meet Santa, and celebrate in the charming old western town in Pasadena. Different themes each night. $14 in advance. 6pm to 9pm daily.
  • Sip & Shop at Angela Fabbri’s Pop-Up Gallery in Rice Village | Thursday, December 16 | No Cover with RSVP – Browse fine art, gifts, and original jewelry over drinks and conversation at Houston artist Angela Fabbri’s temporary gallery. 5pm to 7:30pm.
  • The Temptations at The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston | Friday, December 17 & Saturday, December 18 – Take a trip back to Motown of the ‘60s and ‘70s at Galveston’s historic opera house when the legendary soul quintet bring their 60th anniversary tour to Texas.  First run tickets are sold out, but you may find hard-to-get seats on the resale marketplace. 8pm both nights. 
  • 10th Annual Tamale Festival Houston at East River | Saturday, December 18 – South Texas’ holiday staple takes center stage as the Tamale Fest returns after a year off (plus a two-week postponement from a date earlier this month), this time landing at a new East End location. Expect plenty of tamales, live music, drinks, and people-watching. $10. 11am to 8pm.
  • Holiday Jazz Picnic featuring Tianna Hall at a Secret Downtown Houston Park | Saturday, December 18 – Bayou City Picnic’s final event of the year boasts gourmet picnic baskets with charcuterie or sandwiches, warm blankets, and a live show from jazz artist Tianna Hall featuring Christmas and swing hits. $90, with add-on options for three or four people, wine, flowers, extra snacks, and more. 4:30pm to 6pm.
  • Duck’s 14th Annual Tacky Christmas Sweater Party at True Anomaly Brewing | Saturday, December 18 | No Cover – Don your tackiest sweater apparel—and win prizes—as NASA guy and one of True Anomaly’s founder Michael “Duck” Duckworth brings his trend-starting and 14-year-old holiday tradition back to his brewery (with approval from his other NASA partners, natch). 8pm to midnight. 
  • Family Day at Bayou Bend Collections & Gardens | Sunday, December 19 | FREE – Bring the family to the American decorative arts museum along Memorial Drive for a day filled with a puppet show, storytelling, arts and crafts, and more. 1pm to 5pm.
  • Paella on the Patio at Mutiny Wine Room | Sunday, December 19 – Chef Eduardo Alcayaga’s popular paella al fresco returns to the heights destination that’s equal parts restaurant, wine tasting room and wine shop. $27 for the paella, plus a Spanish wine pairing for $13 by the glass, $47 by the bottle. 3pm, 4:30pm, and 6pm.
