Dig up amazing finds at the 68th Annual HGMS Gem, Mineral, Jewelry & Fossil Show

Feast your eyes and mind on beautiful earthly treasures and educational activities at the 68th Annual HGMS Gem, Mineral, Jewelry & Fossil Show at the Humble Civic Center from Friday, November 12 to Sunday, November 14, 2021.

The Humble Civic Center, located near IAH Airport, welcomes back the three-day event presented by the Houston Gem and Mineral Society filled with beautiful minerals, fossils, jewelry, gemstones, and more unique finds.

Visit over 40 dealers for shopping opportunities, whether looking for holiday gifts or a little something special for yourself. With a wide selection of items for sale at various price ranges, there’s something for everyone.

Eager-to-learn attendees will find plenty to engage themselves including a wide array of educational exhibitions, classes and demonstrations such as lessons on jewelry making, beading, lapidary and fossil identifications.

Mine Your Mind

All ages can enrich their minds with displays of gems, minerals and fossil specimens, or even get a free identification of your own mystery gem by experts.

While you’re there be sure to peruse the Mineral Section displays of astounding fluorescent minerals under black light, publications for sale, and school rock, mineral, and fossil sets.

If you aren’t feeling minerals, you may dig the Paleontology Section displays which feature fossil collections, books, “touch fossils,” and more special exhibits that tour various gem and mineral shows. 

Visitors can also check out craft activities presented by the Houston Museum of Natural Science, an energy exhibit from the Houston Geological Society, demonstrations of faceting, cabbing, silversmithing and more throughout each day of the show.

Family Fun

There will be plenty to keep the kiddos engaged with activities that include the “School Daze” Earth Science Program, the Scout Geology Merit Badge, and the “Dino Dig”.

Parents of younger kids can breathe easy as children aged 10 and under (accompanied by an adult) receive free admission.
