- 42nd Annual Festival Chicano at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE | Thursday, October 7 to Saturday, October 9 – Join Miller Outdoor Theatre for three nights of authentic Chicano music. The festival aims to reflect the artistic creativity that has developed in the Chicano cultural experience. Concerts through the three-day event include Little Joe y La Familia alongside Los Texmaniacs on Thursday; Ram Herrera with Grupo Aviso, plus Adalberto, J.R. Gomez and Demmi Garcia on Friday; David Lee Garza y Los Musicales performs with Shelly Lares on Saturday, which will also be livestreamed. 7pm.
- Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival in Downtown Conroe | Friday, October 8 to Sunday, October 10 – Conroe’s annual festival celebrating all things Cajun is back for its 32nd year. Be sure not to miss the live performances across three stages, a carnival, the annual Catfish pageant, and food vendors offering festival and Cajun favorites. - Diva Royale: Drag Queen Show at Buddy’s | Friday, October 8 to Sunday, October 10 – Enjoy an overload of glitz and glam in Montrose with some of the finest female impersonators in the business. - 37th Annual Galveston Greek Festival at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church | Saturday, October 9 & Sunday, October 10 | No Cover – Head to Galveston for two full days of Greek culture celebration with authentic Greek food, Greek wines and beer, dance performances, a vendor market and tours of the Church. Saturday 11am to 7pm; Sunday noon to 5pm.

- Gracie Abrams in Concert at House of Blues – The “Unlearn” pop sensation, Gracie Abrams, performs a set in Downtown Houston. San Francisco–based newcomer Forrest Nolan will open the show. Tickets are $19.50. 7pm.
- Big Freedia in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – New Orleans bounce music icon Big Freedia makes a stop in Houston for the Big Diva Energy tour to support her latest EP by the same name. - Wavves in Concert at Satellite Bar – Catch a set from rock band Wavves at the outdoor music venue in the East End. The San Diego group’s fall tour supports their latest album, Hideaway, which dropped in July 2021. Tickets are $22. 8pm.
- Erykah Badu in Concert at Smart Financial Centre – Known as a pioneer in the neo-soul movement, Erykah Badu makes her Smart Financial Centre debut. The “Window Seat” and “On & On” singer will perform her award-winning songs dating back to her debut in 1994. - Food Truck Rally 2 at B-52 Brewing | No Cover – If you’re in a need of a food truck fix, B-52’s food truck rally in Conroe is the place to be. After the first rally’s major success, the brewery is making the second installment bigger with more food trucks and more fun. 1pm to 8pm.
- Oktoberfest at Eureka Heights Brew Co. | No Cover – Eureka Heights celebrates Oktoberfest their way with pretzels and brats from Kortex BBQ and performances from the Jodie Mikula Orchestra. 3pm to 7pm.

- ROCO presents Mixed Messages at Post – The brand new Post Houston, which takes over the old Barbara Jordan Post Office in Downtown, will be hosting a limited access event to celebrate performing arts in the future technology, food, and retail venue. - Sweet Like Pan Dulce Pop-Up at Tenfold Coffee Company | No Cover – Cure that sweet tooth craving at this pop-up celebrating this tasty treat in the Heights. The event will have music, drinks, and interactive photo installations. 10am to 3pm.
- Copperhead O-Fest at Copperhead Brewery | No Cover – Conroe’s Copperhead Brewery is not only celebrating Oktoberfest, but is also bringing back their German-style Festbier for the first time since 2016. Drink beer, order pretzels and brats, and compete in the Stein Hoisting competition to win a free 1-liter mug and a 12-pack of O-Fest. Noon to 4pm.
- West African Dance Classes at Houston Metropolitan Dance Center – Learn dance styles originating in Guinea, Mali and the Congo with KoumanKe’le’ African Dance & Drum Ensemble. These high-energy dances will be accompanied by live drumming to make everyone hit the dance floor. Tickets are $14. 3pm.
- The Fenyx Show at the Ballroom at Bayou Place – Come one or come all to this Cirque du Soleil-style show featuring acrobatics, magicians, and more. Each installment of the three-show series has its own daring and daunting acts that can’t be seen at any other show. Tickets range from $20 to $75. 3pm to 5pm.
- West Coast Swing Sunday at Neon Boots Dancehall – Grab your dance partner or come and meet new friends to learn the West Coast Swing and the Houston Whip from Neon Boots’ dance instructors. - Wizkid in Concert at Bayou Music Center – The Nigerian singer-songwriter comes to Houston for the Made in Lagos tour. After his latest single, “Essence,” became the first Nigerian song to chart on the US Billboard Hot 100, the breakout star is touring the country to bring Afrobeats to the mainstream.
