- The Crosby Zydeco Festival at Crosby Fairgrounds | Friday, September 17 to Sunday, September 19 – Fans of Zydeco music will have a ball at this festival at the Crosby Fairgrounds. This three-day event will feature more than 10 artists and bands, as well as food trucks and fun games with prizes. Single-day tickets start at $25; $5 for ages under 13. Times vary.
- Diva Royale: Drag Queen Show at Buddy’s | Friday, September 17 to Sunday, September 19 – Kick off your weekend with a drag and dinner (or Sunday brunch) show in Montrose. Experience incredible impersonations of household names like Madonna, Beyoncé, and Dolly Parton. Tickets start at $20. 7pm.
- Gatsby: The World Premiere Musical at Art Factory | Friday, September 17 to Sunday, September 19 – Watch F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel, The Great Gatsby, come alive on stage at Art Factory, just north of Downtown. The story follows Midwesterner Nick Carraway as he navigates his new life in West Egg, an affluent community outside of New York City. Tickets are $25. Friday and Saturday 8pm; Sunday 5pm.

- Comedian Mo Amer at White Oak Music Hall – Best known from his Netflix comedy special, Mo Amer the Vagabond, the stand-up comic returns to the stage for back-to-back sets in Houston. These performances will be recorded for an upcoming release. Tickets are $25. 6pm.
- Tacos & Tequila Boat Cruise in Kemah – Take your Taco Tuesday to the next level aboard the It’s Five O’clock Here in Kemah. Chef-prepared tacos will be paired with cocktails by a professional mixologist for the three-hour cruise. Tickets are $125. 7pm.
- Bewitched Burlesque at AvantGarden – For a spellbinding night of fun, head to AvantGarden in Montrose for the Bewitched Burlesque show. Channel your inner witch and watch performances from Valentina J’adore and Bella Be Damned. Tickets are $20. 7:30pm.

This new work, composed by J. Kimo Williams, will tap into the philosophies of Abraham Lincoln and Ludwig van Beethoven. Tickets start at $10. 7:30pm.
- El Grito Featuring Cambalache at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE | Virtual Option – Miller Outdoor Theatre is hosting a traditional Grito ceremony, held the night before Mexican Independence Day, with a performance by Cambalache to follow. This performance will also be livestreamed. 7:30pm.
- Lerner & Loewe’s My Fair Lady at Hobby Center – First premiering on Broadway in 1956, My Fair Lady tells the story of a professor, Henry Higgins, as he transforms a flower-seller, Eliza Doolittle, into his idea of a proper lady. Tickets start at $35. 7:30pm.

- Mexican Independence Day at El Big Bad – Celebrate south-of-the-border style at El Big Bad in Downtown with tequila-tasting and award-winning margaritas.
