  • Olympics Watch Party at Discovery Green | Thursday, July 29 & Friday, July 30 | FREE – Owen Conflenti, Lisa Hernandez, Courtney Zavala and others from the KPRC 2 team will close out the five-day event at Discovery Green, where Olympic fans can gather and catch the primetime coverage of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics along with pre-show activities and performances. 4pm to 8pm.
  • Summer Mixtape Series at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Thursday, July 29 to Saturday, July 31 | FREE | Virtual Option – Catch some of Houston’s independent jazz, punk, reggae, indie pop, and country acts in this three-day showcase of local talent, including Dende, the Broken Spokes, El Lago, Raycheal Winters, and more. You can also catch a livestream of these performances on Miller Outdoor’s YouTube. Seating in the covered area requires a free ticket that can be reserved online. Seating on the hill is open to the public and does not require ticketing. 8:30pm each night.
  • Texas Lottery & Resound presents Luck Happens Live featuring Wale at White Oak Music Hall | Friday, July 30 | FREE – Enjoy a dose of good luck when the Texas Lottery’s free event series, Luck Happens Live, returns with DC-based rapper Wale, along with Riders Against The Storm, in concert at White Oak Music Hall in the Heights. The show is free but advance RSVPs are required. 7pm.
  • The Bridal Extravaganza Show: Summer 2021 in Downtown | Saturday, July 31 & Sunday, August 1 – Round up your bride squad and plan all aspects of your upcoming wedding with your pick of Houston’s top wedding professionals, including specialists in flowers, catering, wedding cakes, banquet facilities, and more at the bi-annual Bridal Extravaganza Show in George R. Brown Convention Center. $15, but 365 Houston readers can save $2 with promo code 365NOW at checkout; $20 at the door. The discount code also applies to the $39 VIP tickets which come with perks, extra giveaway entries, and a swag bag to the first 100 Sunday brides. Saturday 10am to 5pm; Sunday 11am to 5pm.
  • Round 52: Gulf Coast Anthropocene & Community Market at Project Row Houses | Saturday, July 31 | FREE – The Third Ward arts and community institution reopens to the public for the first time in over a year with a market and talks from the 8 artists behind Round 52: Gulf Coast Anthropocene. 3pm to 7pm.
  • 4th Annual Hangar Bash at Lone Star Flight Museum | Saturday, July 31 – Celebrate the 4th annual edition of Lone Star Flight Museum’s popular Hangar Bash where guests can party among the planes while enjoying award-winning barbecue from Lone Star Cowboy Cookers, ice-cold beer and wine from Silver Eagle Distributors, and live music from the Honky-Tonk Revivalists—plus plane tours and an After Party starting at 8pm. Hangar Bash tickets are $55; $45 for members. VIP tickets are $80; $70 for members. Designated driver tickets are $25; VIP tables are $450. After Party tickets are $20 and are not included with any other ticket purchase. 4pm to 10pm.
  • Jason Mraz, with Southern Avenue at White Oak Music Hall (Lawn) | Saturday, July 31 – The Grammy-winning folk pop musician takes to the White Oak stage on the lawn for an evening of songs from his summer 2020 release, Look for the Good. $50.50 for advance tickets; $53 day of the show, but you may find better, cheaper, or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7pm.
  • Houston Dynamo FC vs. Real Salt Lake at BBVA Stadium | Saturday, July 31 – The Dynamo host another Western Conference team battling for playoff position at this midsummer match. $20 to over $100, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7:30pm.
  • Houston Restaurant Weeks 2021 | Starts Sunday, August 1 – The summer’s favorite charitable event is back, running for 37 days and, as always, raising some serious funds for the Houston Food Bank. This year’s Houston Restaurant Weeks features multi-course, prix fixe dine-in and to-go offerings via a stellar roster of restaurants, including returning favorites like B&B Butchers & Restaurant, Hugo’s, Lucille’s, and Maison Pucha Bistro, plus newbies from Fegen’s to the Nash. Look through the lineup and score your reservations to give and dine. Prices, times, and locations vary.
  • H-Town Sneaker Summit at Bayou City Event Center Houston | Sunday, August 1 – Established in 2004, this massive sneaker community event in South Houston brings enthusiasts together for an epic day of buying, selling, and trading rare and fashionable sneakers, clothing, and accessories. $35. 3pm to 8pm.
  • Houston Dash vs. NJ/NY Gotham FC at BBVA Stadium | Sunday, August 1 – Missing star striker and ex-Dash forward Carli Lloyd, Gotham FC come to town tied with Houston in the standings. Tickets range from $12 to over $50, but you may find better, cheaper, or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 6pm.
  • Nacho Redondo at Houston Improv | Sunday, August 1 – The Venezuelan stand-up comic and podcast host of “Escuela de Nada” swings through the Houston Improv for a special one night–only performance while on his 2021 US tour. Please note this performance will be in Spanish. Tickets are sold by the table and range from $58 for 2 people to $174 for 6 people. 7:30pm.
