  • Mardi Gras Madness Workshop at The Woodland’s Children Museum Bring the kiddos out for a chance to create their own Mardi Gras masks and necklaces in the traditional “Fat Tuesday” fashion when Woodland’s Children Museum hosts a Mardi Gras workshop. Ages 5 to 9. $12. 10am to noon.
  • Saturday in Smither Park | FREE – Head to the ever-evolving Smither Park next to The Orange Show to take in the latest installations and see local folk artists working on the intricate sculpting and mosaic work that helps shape one of Houston’s most unique parks. 10am to 4pm.
  • HCCC presents Virtual Workshop: Terracotta Vessel Hand Building with Kristin Willders | Virtual – Learn how to create Terracotta vessels when HCCC resident artist Kirstin Willders hosts a workshop inspired by HCCC’s winter exhibitions, Forms of Inheritance: The Work of Anna Mayer and Texas Master Series: James C.   • Valentine’s Day Flower Pop-Up Shop at CityCentre Show the loved ones in your life you care with a beautiful arrangement by Freedom Floral at CityCentre’s Valentine’s Day Flower Pop-Up Shop. $37 to $110 for mixed floral arrangements including vase; $35 to $45 for punny canned arrangements; $40 to $85 for tulips by the dozen. 11am to 1pm.
  • Mardi Gras Brunch at Grooves of Houston | No Cover – Brunch through the day with DJ tunes, live music from the N.O. Hustlers Brass Band, crawfish, plenty of New Orleans-themed drinks and bites and more. No cover, but you can snag a complimentary mimosa carafe with your RSVP. 11am to 5pm.
  • Lonely Hearts Fest at M-K-T | No Cover – M-K-T hosts a market for people looking the other way on Valentine’s Day. Expect dozens of local vendors, several food trucks and a whole slate of event happenings, including a Cupid dunk tank, friendship bracelet workshop, and pet adoptions. Noon to 5pm.
  • Second Saturdays HTX Market at NettBar | No Cover – Shop from more than 20 area vendors while browsing artisan goods, artwork and more, when HTX Market sets up at Nettbar’s parking lot near Washington Ave. Noon to 5pm.
  • Asymmetry of Entropy at Site Gallery in Sawyer Yards | FREE – Experience what it’s like to enter a black hole when Sawyer Yards hosts Daniel B. Fuller’s experimental and interactive art installation that guides guests into the vast and utter darkness of the black hole using LED lighting and mirrors. Noon to 5pm.
  • Second Saturday at Sawyer Yards | No Cover – Tour more than 350 open art studios, explore an outdoor makers market, and grab a craft brew with friends and family at the six studio buildings on the Sawyer Yards campus. Noon to 7pm.
  • Valentines Market at B-52 Brewing | No Cover – The Conroe brewery hosts a special Valentine’s Market, featuring local vendors, artisan goods, pet adoptions, and other gifts alongside the release of their newest beer, Tart After Dark, a cherry chocolate almond sour. Noon to 10pm.
  • 3rd Annual MKT Cajun Festival at MKT Distillery | No Cover – Katy’s local distillery is hosting its third annual Cajun Festival, featuring a Gumbo and Cocktail contest, live music, crawfish, bounce houses, and locally crafted cocktails. 12:30pm to 5pm.
  • Second Annual Houston Oaks Wine & Food Classic at The Clubs at Houston Oaks – Guests at this second annual event can expect over 200 high end wines from over 50 wineries, gourmet bites made with produce harvested onsite, samplings of boutique spirits, live music, tours of the grounds, and expert seminars. Tickets are $175 for the Grand Tasting Pass and $250 for early entry, with add-ons available. 1pm to 4pm; early entry at noon.
  • BLCK Market at Buffalo Soldiers National Museum | No Cover – Shop from more than 50 Black small businesses, entrepreneurs, artisans, and vendors at the BLCK Market taking place in the Museum District. 1pm to 5pm.
  • CAMH presents Virtual Drop-In Experience: Scavenger Hunt for Found Sounds Online | FREE | Virtual – Explore the sounds surrounding you during an auditory scavenger hunt from CAMH, inspired by the unconventional photography and remixing of materials in their current exhibition, Slowed and Throwed: Records of the City Through Mutated Lenses. 1pm.
  • Family Magic & Comedy For All Ages with Carter Blackburn at Houston Improv Enjoy a mystical afternoon that bridges comedy and magic with a family-friendly set from Carter Blackburn that features a mixture of audience participation, magic tricks, illusions, juggling, sleight of hand, and more at Houston Improv. $20 for two people; $40 for four and $60 for six. 2pm.
  • Tapas on the Trails at Houston Arboretum – Taste gourmet tapas-sized dishes and perfectly paired wines from around the world at the Tapas on the Trails event at Houston Arboretum. Along with dinner, you can enjoy a romantic walk on softly lit trails through the forest and under the moonlight.   • Mike Zito in Concert at The Heights Theater Cap off your Saturday night with a lively performance from blues singer-songwriter, Mike Zito when he takes his guitar-driven sound to the stage of the Heights Theater. Jim Suhler opens the show. $24. 8:45pm.

Between the two locations, just a few blocks apart, you’ll find artisan jewelry, clothing and other goods alongside readymade foods and a special array of local vendors. 10am to 3pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Brunch at The Rustic Post Oak | No Cover – Bring a date to the Valentine’s Day edition of The Rustic’s signature Jam & Toast Brunch and enjoy brunch classics along with live music. Food and drinks are on you. 10am to 3pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Brunchy Brunch at Eureka Heights Brew Co Dine on a delectable brunch menu this Valentine’s Day with hearty bites including steak and eggs, green chili Migas, as well as brunch beer beverages and more. Menu item prices vary. Noon to 4pm.
  • Valentine’s Day at Backstreet Cafe Spend Valentine’s Day in Backstreet Cafe’s romantic setting with al fresco patios, cozy fireplaces, and intimate tables when Chef Hugo Ortega offers a brunch, dinner, and special couples menu. $49 per person for brunch; $85 per person for dinner; $110 for the couples dinner.   • Valentine’s Day Battle of the Sexes Comedy Show at Warehouse Live Bust a gut at the 8th Annual Valentine’s Day Battle of the Sexes Comedy Show featuring performances from Rich Williams, Thea Vidale, Dusti Rhodes, Andy Huggins, and more. This show is 18 and up. 7pm.
