  • 2021 Sundance Film Festival Houston | Daily – Grab your popcorn and ready yourself for a special satellite screening of the Sundance Film Festival in Houston, with films shown at Moonstruck Drive-In in the East End and at a special pop up drive-in at the historic DeLuxe Theater in Fifth Ward. The final day of the daily screenings is Tuesday, February 2, 2021. $30 per vehicle for all screenings. Times vary.
  • 3rd Annual Galveston Museum Day | Daily | FREE | Virtual & In-Person The special weeklong 2021 version of the island’s annual discounted museum celebration continues, with free virtual tours of must-see museums and destinations. The attractions—including the 1877 Tall Ship Elissa, Moody Mansion, Galveston Naval Museum, and more—are also open for socially distanced visits, several with special offers and incentives. Tours available 24 Hours. Prices and hours vary for visits.
  • Asia Society Texas Center presents Virtual Course: Learn American Mah Jongg | Thursday & Friday | Virtual – Get a comprehensive look at American Mah Jongg as teachers Donna Gibbon and Alicia Eissler host a virtual class that works through the basic theory of the game, history, American rules, strategies and more. 4:30pm to 6:30pm both days.
  • Houston Symphony presents Beethoven 8 + Haydn at Jones Hall | Friday to Sunday | Virtual Option – Marvel as the Houston Symphony and their principal cellist Brinton Averil Smith takes center stage for Haydn’s virtuosic Cello Concerto No. 2, as well as Beethoven’s beloved Symphony No. 8 and more. $29; live stream tickets for the Saturday, January 30 performance are $20. Showtimes vary.
  • Cheers to Six Years at Mo’s Irish Pub Vintage Park | Friday to Sunday | No Cover – Celebrate six years of Irish pub goodness when Mo’s Irish Pub Vintage Park commemorates the occasion with a weekend of breakfast specials, live music, giveaways, and a Bark ‘n Brunch with doggy treats for your pup on Sunday. Times vary.
  • Monster Jam at NRG Stadium | Saturday & Sunday – Get revved up for a high-energy, family-friendly showcase of massive trucks crushing, ramming, crashing and soaring through the air at NRG Stadium. $20 to $110, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the resale marketplaceTimes vary.
  • Duo • Identity at Archway Gallery | Friday to Sunday – Examine complementary three-dimensional figurines and the life-size two-dimensional pieces of Jiashan Land and Anthony Pablillano in Archway Gallery’s joint exhibit, Duo • Identity. On view through Thursday, February 4, 2021. Times vary.
  • MF DOOM Mural at Lo-Fi in Montrose | Daily | FREE – Make a stop along the Westheimer Curve to check out the latest mural added to Montrose’s colorful collection, paying tribute to the late, legendary rapper MF DOOM on the outdoor wall of vintage clothing shop Lo-Fi. All day.
  • Seismique Interactive Art Museum | Daily Wander into a tech-fueled, interactive, intergalactic-inspired art exhibition with 40 exhibits from national and local artists. Starts at $35; $28 for ages 12 and under. Times vary.

  • Frozen 2 Movie Screening at Levy Park | FREE – Join Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and more for a family-friendly movie screening of Disney’s 2019 smash-hit Frozen 2 at Levy Park. 6:30pm.
  • Live on the Lawn at Market Street | FREE – Sprawl out on the lawn with a blanket or chair while enjoying a family-friendly outdoor concert from area bands in the heart of The Woodlands at Market Street. 6:30pm.
  • Friday Family Movie Night: The Avengers: Endgame Movie Screening at Memorial City Mall | FREE – Bring a lawn chair or blanket for an outdoor screening of 2019 Marvel ensemble superhero flick The Avengers: End Game, starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Brie Larson, Chris Evans and more, on Memorial City’s giant hi-def screen on The Square. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Da Camera presents Mendelsohn Portrait Virtual Concert | FREE | Virtual – Witness a performance by the Brentano Quartet of rarely-heard Mendelssohn pieces in this virtual concert that includes a conversation with Brentano’s Mark Steinberg about the Mendelssohn Octet. 7pm.
  • Sundance Film Festival 2021: I Was a Simple Man at Moonstruck Drive-In Get lost in the natural beauty of writer-director Christopher Makoto Yogi’s film, I Was a Simple Man, which tells the story of Masao, a man facing a terminal sickness, while also being rooted in the rich environments of Hawai’i at Moonstruck Drive-In in EaDo. $30 per car. Gates open at 6:30pm; the film starts at 7:30pm.
  • Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Movie Screening at The Drive-In off Navigation Play for your life during a drive-in screening of 2017 animal-filled movie starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle at Rooftop Cinema Club’s showing at The Drive-In off Navigation. $22 to $27 per vehicle. 7:30pm.
  • Filth: A Stand Up Show at Rudyard’s British Pub – Fall out of your chair laughing during an evening of uncensored comedy from local stand-up comedians where nobody is safe and even the crowd risks getting roasted by the two hosts. This show is not recommended if you are easily offended. $8 in advance; $10 at the door; $40 for a reserved table. 8pm and 10pm.
  • Double Vision: Tribute to Foreigner at Rockefeller’s Houston Head to Washington Ave for an evening of hits including “Hot Blooded,” “Feels Like the First Time” and more when Double Vision pays tribute to the classic rock band Foreigner at Rockefeller’s Houston. $12 to $17. 8pm.
  • The Crüe: A Tribute to Mötley Crüe in Concert at Scout Bar Travel back to the ’80s while rocking out to the hits of the heavy metal band, Mötley Crüe, when The Crüe pay tribute at Scout Bar. Poison I.V., a tribute to Poison, opens the show. $10; $50 for a reserved table. Doors at 8pm; show at 10pm.
