  • MF DOOM Mural at Lo-Fi in Montrose | Daily | FREE – Make a stop along the Westheimer Curve to check out the latest mural added to Montrose’s colorful collection, paying tribute to the late, legendary rapper MF DOOM on the outdoor wall of vintage clothing shop Lo-Fi. All day.
  • 6th Annual MATCH Family Fun Day: At-Home Edition | Daily | FREE | Virtual – The annual Family Fun Day goes virtual this year, with a week of online material, including kid-friendly videos, video dance performances from Open Dance Project, puzzles, a hip-hop dancing class with Break Free Hip-Hop School and more. The program will be available online starting Sunday, January 17, 2021.
  • Duo • Identity at Archway Gallery | Friday to Sunday – Examine complementary three-dimensional figurines and the life-size two-dimensional pieces of Jiashan Land and Anthony Pablillano in Archway Gallery’s joint exhibit, Duo • Identity, about duality, contrast, and the artists’ shared interest in figurative art. On view through Thursday, February 4, 2021. Times vary.
  • Comic T.J. Miller at Houston Improv | Friday to Sunday – Laugh yourself silly when the Silicon Valley and Deadpool actor, T.J. Miller, known for his absurdist philosophical stand-up comedy brings his observational humor to the stage at Houston Improv for a weekend of shows. Tables are $60 for two people; $120 for four people; $180 for six people. Preferred tables are $80 for two people. Showtimes vary.
  • Artists on Site at Asia Society Texas | Daily – Catch the final weekend of Asia Society Texas Center’s public-facing exhibit where guests can see the creative process of four local artists evolve throughout the month. Times vary.
  • Seismique Interactive Art Museum | Daily Wander into a tech-fueled, interactive, intergalactic-inspired art exhibition with 40 exhibits from national and local artists. Starts at $35; $28 for ages 12 and under. Times vary.

  • Art League Houston presents Blue Tape Art Talk on Facebook Live | FREE | Virtual – Hear what Art League Houston has in store with their upcoming exhibition program when Sarah Beth Wilson, Art League’s Director of Exhibitions and Curatorial Projects, and programs associate Erin Carty deliver a virtual gallery talk online via Facebook Live. 10:30am.
  • Bayou Land Conservancy presents Ask an Ecologist on Facebook Live | FREE | Virtual – This weekly series invites those with a nagging nature question to send in a query for guest ecologists to tackle. 3pm.
  • Kingwood Farmers Market at Town Center Park | No Cover – Shop for fresh homegrown fruits, vegetables, jams, baked goods and more at the Farmers Market in Kingwood Town Center Park. 3pm to 7pm.
  • M-K-T Sunset Market in The Heights | FREE – Spend your early evening browsing fresh local meals and refreshments, as well as taking in live music, movie screenings, a DIY flower bar and more at the family-friendly M-K-T Sunset Market on N Shepherd. 4pm to 8pm.
  • One-Year Anniversary at Mutiny Wine Room | FREE with RSVP – Celebrate the first anniversary of Mutiny Wine Room in the Heights when Mutiny’s sommelier Ben Harris leads a globally-inspired tasting with free wine flights. Reservations are required. 4pm to 10pm.
  • Ladies Night: Cheeseboard & Wine Bottle Pairing at Pour Behavior | No Cover – Pair a delicious cheeseboard with a bottle of wine when Pour Behavior in Midtown hosts an evening of tasty eats and live tunes from DJ Johnny Mac. $20. 4pm to 11:55pm.
  • Tips & Tasting: Wine & Food Tasting and Wine Education at Black Door Wine Club The CityCentre wine club leads an informative wine and small plate food pairing event with wine expert Cody Uzzel, Tasting Room owner Jerry Lasco, and Tasting Room’s Chef Beto Gutierrez. $25 to $35; free for members. 6pm to 7pm.
  • Dan Crump in Concert at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck | Virtual Option – Catch a live set from country music singer-songwriter Dan Crump when he takes to the stage at the Mucky Duck in Upper Kirby. $120 for a table of four; $180 for a table of six. A free live stream broadcast will also be viewable on YouTube. 7pm.
  • Showgirl Bingo at Warehouse Live | No Cover – Join hosts Pier Daily and Noir Lillet for a fun-filled evening that’s equal parts emo music, bingo and burlesque in the heart of EaDo at Warehouse Live. Doors at 6:30pm. No cover; $5 for seated VIP tickets. 7pm.
  • HTX Eats Pop Up Series at Bovine & Barley Enjoy a chef-led pop-up dinner from Hot and Buttered at Bovine & Barley in Downtown, where a culinary guest is invited to cook in B&B’s kitchen and serve their most loved dishes. Menu prices vary. 7pm to 10pm.
  • Nine Inch Nails Tribute Night at Etro Lounge | No Cover – “Bow down before the one you serve” at a dance night dedicated to the hits, underground tracks, remixes, and different projects of Nine Inch Nails at the Etro nightclub in Downtown. ’90s inspired cyber-goth wear is encouraged. 9pm.

  • HTX Market at Walking Stick Brewing Company | No Cover – Keep cool at an in-person, evening market featuring plenty of local vendors and artisans at Walking Stick Brewing Company near Shady Acres. No cash will be accepted, credit card only. 5pm to 9pm.
  • Hirsch Vineyards Wine Tasting with Jasmine Hirsch, Chris Shepherd & Matthew Pridgen on Zoom | Virtual – Join Chef Chris Shepherd, winemaker Jasmine Hirsch of Hirsch Vineyards, and Underbelly Hospitality wine guy Matthew Pridgen for a virtual tasting where you’ll learn about all things Pinot. Add on a charcuterie board from Georgia James and have something to snack on during the class. $130. 6pm.
  • New Magnolia Bike Ride at New Magnolia Brewing | No Cover Get outdoors while enjoying a 10-mile bike ride through the Greater Heights area when New Magnolia Brewing hosts a casually paced ride with two stops at local bars in the Heights before returning to the brewery. No cover; drinks are on you. 6pm.
  • Drive-In Movie Screening of The Karate Kid at Raven Tower – Pull up for a screening of the original 1984 movie that introduced the world to Cobra Kai, Daniel LaRusso, Johnny Lawrence, and “Sweep the leg.” $30 per vehicle. 6:45pm and 9:30pm.
  • Sheila Marshall in Concert at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck | Virtual Option – Catch a live set from Americana singer-songwriter Sheila Marshall when she takes to the stage at the Mucky Duck in Upper Kirby. A free live stream broadcast will also be viewable on YouTube. $120 for a table of four; $180 for a table of six. 7pm.
  • Friday Family Movie Night: Avengers: Infinity War Movie Screening at Memorial City Mall | FREE – Bring a lawn chair or blanket for an outdoor screening of 2018 Marvel ensemble superhero flick, Avengers: Infinity War starring Robert Downey Jr., Chadwick Boseman, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Holland, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and more, on Memorial City’s giant hi-def screen on The Square. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Strangelove: The Depeche Mode Experience at Warehouse Live – Travel back to the ’80s when tribute band Strangelove pay homage to English electronic band Depeche Mode, on stage at Warehouse Live in EaDo. Radio Duran and Lvke Jvarez open the show. $14 in advance; $17 day of the show; $200 for a VIP table. Doors at 7pm; show at 8pm.
