Things to Do All Weekend
- Asia Society Texas Center presents The Festival of Eid: A Virtual Celebration on Facebook Live | Thursday to Saturday | FREE – Join in a daily, family-friendly celebration of Eid-al-Fitr, which marked the end of the holy month of Ramadan on Sunday, May 24. The museum’s Facebook page will continue to present a daily celebration of food, music, culture, and other celebrations through Saturday, May 30, 2020. 4pm daily.
- Rooftop Cinema Club presents The Drive-In at Spring | Friday to Sunday – During the COVID-19 crisis, Rooftop Cinema Club in Uptown has joined forces with the city of Spring for a special drive-in movie screening experience featuring classic and beloved films. Debuting with the classic film Grease, the series also will be screening classics like Jurassic Park, The Sandlot, Trolls, How to Train Your Dragon and more. Adults bringing children are responsible for checking individual movie’s ratings and determining if they’re appropriate. There are two screenings each night, at 8:15pm and again around 10:45pm. Tickets are priced per vehicle and range from $28 (side view) to $35 (center view) most nights. 8:15pm to 11pm.
- What’s New to Watch This Week | Daily – We’ve begun compiling the latest in TV, movies, streaming specials and more in-the-moment programming worth watching. So sit back, relax, and tune in with our picks for what’s new to watch this week.
- Museums, Attractions, Parks & Other Public Spaces Reopening | Daily – Parks, museums, and other public spaces are starting to reopen around Greater Houston, with various plans to implement social distancing, new sanitizing policies, and more.
- Rooftop Cinema Club presents The Drive-In at Sawyer Yards | Daily – The uber-popular new nightly movie series is off to a bang, offering two screenings of classic and favorite films projected on the silos of Sawyer Yards. Ticket-holders are assigned a parking spot, where they get listening instructions and options cinema snacks and menu service from Buffalo Bayou Brewing. Tickets are going quick and are already sold out for the weekend, but more capacity may be added and tickets for several future screenings through Sunday, May 31, 2020 are still available. $28 to $35 per vehicle. 8:15pm and approximately 11pm nightly.
- Dining “Out” at Home in Houston: Must Try Meals & Dishes | Daily – Discover our favorite picks for delicious H-Town breweries with curbside pickup, family-style dinners, happy hours, burgers, brunches, and date night dining perfect for bringing home. Plus, find more curbside, pick-up, delivery and other to-go options for restaurant meals.
- Fusion 2 Virtual Art Exhibit at ArchwayGallery.com | Daily | FREE – Browse the newest works by Houston artist Robert L. Straight at the special online exhibition, Fusion 2, from Montrose’s Archway Gallery now through Wednesday, July 1, 2020. This exhibition showcases his proficiency in many media, including glass, wood, and different metal processes such as welding, forging, and casting. All day.
- More Things To Do at Home | Daily | Many FREE – Tap into our lists of things you can do at home, on topics ranging from where to find protective face masks, a wide variety of counseling and therapy options, thought-provoking and binge-worthy podcasts, recipes from local and celebrity chefs, concert and music streaming, home workouts, sports documentaries and classic game streaming, fun and educational things to do with kids, cocktail mixology at home, local and international museum and gallery tours, curbside pickup from restaurants, curbside pickup from record stores and more. You can also kick back to more than five hours of songs about Houston on our free Spotify playlist, order and pick up books from local bookshops, decorate your home with Houston Neighborhoods wall prints, and de-stress your family with helpful tips for parents and kids.

- Levy Park presents Tai Chi On-Demand on Facebook & YouTube | FREE – Practice Tai Chi to connect and focus the body and mind with slow, low-impact gentle movements and stretches. Open to all ages and levels, this class is great for those who want to de-stress, find their inner peace, and increase overall health. - Pearland Library presents Virtual Storytime on Facebook Live | FREE – Bring your favorite kiddos around the screen for a live reading from Pearland Library. 11am to 11:30pm.
- Chez Nous Pop-Up at White Elm Cafe Bakery Space – Local French restaurant Chez Nous partners up with White Elm Cafe Bakery (set to open up this summer) for a to-go pop-up. The pop-up will start at noon until they sell out and will offer gourmet sandwiches on Bread Man Baking Company’s breads including Focaccia, Marbled Rye, Hoagie, and Croissants. Along with the sandwiches, they will also be offering desserts and elixirs. Menu prices vary. To-go orders only. Noon.
- ROCOreveal: Composer Alyssa Morris on Facebook Live | FREE – River Oaks Chamber Orchestra’s 16th season composer-in-residence Alyssa Morris will chat from her home about three works she’s writing for ROCO, and more. 12:30pm to 1:30pm.
- CAMH presents Virtual Artist Talk with Ayanna Jolivet Mccloud on YouTube | FREE – Learn more about the exhibition Slowed and Throwed: Records of the City Through Mutated Lenses with CAMH’s Exhibitions Manager and Assistant Curator, Patricia Restrepo, and a visual artist featured in the exhibition— Ayanna Jolivet Mccloud. Tune in to CAMH’s YouTube channel for this conversation about this two-part interdisciplinary exhibition that orbits around the legacy of the late Houston rapper. 6:30pm to 7pm.
- Asia Society Texas Center presents Webcast: The Global Race for Vaccines, Treatments for Covid-19 | FREE – Join Asia Society Hong Kong Center and the Texas Center as experts discuss the global race to develop vaccines and treatments for COVID-19. This program is online-only and will be simulcast to YouTube Live and Facebook Live. 8pm.
- Grease Movie Screening at The Showboat Drive-In Theater – The Showboat Drive-In Theater in Hockley screens the classic modern musical, Grease (1978), starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. The classic drive-in set-up is ideally suited for socially-distanced entertainment. Experience the friendships, romances, and adventures of a group of high school kids in the 1950s. 8:30pm.

- The Health Museum presents Live Lab with Great Age Movement on Facebook Live | FREE – Join The Health Museum and the Great Age Movement for some fun, at-home exercise techniques to keep seniors active and mobile during the quarantine. Thie event will be held online on The Health Museum’s Facebook Page. 11:30am to noon.
- Goethe Pop Up Houston presents a Virtual Lunchtime Concert with Melissa E. Logan | FREE – Turn your lunch hour into an at-home listening session with Goethe Pop Up Houston’s virtual Lunchtime Concert with Melissa E. Logan, co-founder of the Munich collective Chicks on Speed. This event will be held on Goethe Pop Up Houston’s Facebook Live. Noon to 1pm
- Discovery Green presents Mad Science Online Demonstration | FREE – Give homeschooling a break and tune in to Discovery Green’s online demonstration from Mad Science of Houston instead. You’ll learn fun and easy interactive experiments just in time for science class. This event will be held online at Discovery Green’s website. 12:30pm.
- Evelyn’s Park Conservancy presents Hot Pilates With Christie Kercho on Facebook Live | FREE – Take part in a virtual hot pilates class with Christie Kercho presented by Evelyn’s Park Conservancy. Participants will need a yoga mat and water, hand towel optional. 6pm.
- Vinology presents Austrian Virtual Wine Tasting & Dinner on Facebook Live – Vinology, located on Bissonnet and Greenbriar, presents a virtual tour of the “Eastern Realm”, otherwise known as Österreich or Austria. The alpine country has had a tumultuous modern wine history, but the reputation of its wine has soared to new heights in recent years. The program will feature special guests Emily Schindler from Winemonger Imports and Sean McNeely. The video is free to view on the shop’s Facebook page. Each wine is available individually, along with the Austrian dinner for two. If you order all four wine bottles, plus the dinner for two, the total price is $155. 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
- No Parking on the Dance Floor: Drive-In Dance Music Experience at The Showboat Drive-in Theater – The Showboat Drive-in Theater hosts No Parking on the Dance Floor, a drive-in dance music experience, featuring live music performances from El Paso hip hop group, Riot Ten, also with SubDocta, Bailo, and Wes Walz. Guests will be able to tune into the performance on their FM radios, and can dance within the car, or get out and dance next to their vehicle. Mixing with people from other vehicles will not be permitted and masks are highly recommended when outside of your vehicle. Tickets are priced by vehicle and the number of passengers. Driver tickets and parking permits range from $42.50 to $47.50 (plus an $11 fee). Tickets for each additional passenger range from $22.50 to $27.50 (plus an $8 or $9 fee). 7pm to 11pm.
- Virtual DJ Set with DJ Dayta on Twitch | FREE – Known for spinning everything from hip-hop to house to disco, the local DJ, Dayta live streams a set on Twitch. This event will be held online on DJ Dayta’s Twitch account. 8pm to 11pm.
- MyOhMy: A Drag Show Extravaganza Online – Texas’ touring drag show presents a virtual variety performance featuring tributes to Prince, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Pink, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, and more. Admission Tickets are $9.95, but limited discounted $4 tickets are available. 8pm.
- Classic Numbers Friday Live Stream on Twitch | FREE – Dance from the comfort of your home to ’80s, goth, industrial, new wave and more, as Numbers Nightclub in Montrose continues its weekly Friday dance night. Until further notice, the weekly dance night DJ set will be livestreamed on Twitch by Numbers’ resident DJ Wes Wallace. No in-person attendance. 9:30pm to 1am.
