If you’re wanting to join in on the festivities but avoid the drive home, then make sure you check out the hotel options in La Porte.
Music, Marches & Markets
Help get the party rolling with March to Mardi Gras, La Porte’s official Second Line filled with festively decorated umbrellas that create a spectacle down Main Street. The March is open to everyone and teams can register here.
This year’s live music stage at Mardi Gras on Main kicks off with Bayou City Brass Band—also known as “The Baddest Band on the Planet”. Their unique Gulf Coast sound blends jazz, R&B, and hip-hop with threads of the traditional New Orleans sound, making for a perfect way to let the good times roll. Wayne & The Same Ol’ 2 Step follows at 7pm, and you can also enjoy traditional NOLA sounds throughout the event courtesy of The Platinum Players Zydeco Band.
Elsewhere at the Mardi Gras on Main grounds, partygoers can explore the Mardi Gras market, packed with local vendors, handmade arts and crafts, specialty foods and more. Don’t forget to swing by the inaugural Mardi Gras Art Car Show and check out the field of eclectic mobile art on display.
Mardi Gras Grub & Suds
A stellar lineup of mouth-watering food trucks will help satisfy the hungriest in attendance at Mardi Gras on Main, including bites from Nom Mi Street, Foreign Policy Food Truck, and D’Lish Curbside.
Then, stop by the Texas Draft Wagon and pick up your favorite domestic beers or wines and wash it all down.
