Raise your glass to a bar that puts as much care into curating the experience as the drinks themselves at The Cottonmouth Club.

Located in the heart of Downtown on Main near Commerce Street, this friendly, neighborhood haunt is beloved for its fresh approach to cocktails, weekly live music and happy hour, monthly tastings, late night food and more.

Opened by Mike Raymond, Michael Neff, and Greg Swanson in 2018, visitors flock to the unpretentious bar for house favorites including “Maybe Memphis, Maybe Mexico,” a spicy paloma with Don Julio Silver Tequila, fresh lime, grapefruit soda, and a bit of spice served tall with a pinch of salt.

Looking for a great after-dinner drink? Try the “Hate the Sinner, but Love the Sin,” a mix of Tangueray Malacca, fresh lemon, Texas flower honey, and a Branca Menta rinse served up with mint.

Regardless of what you’re looking for, there’s plenty of cocktails to choose from, awesome live music every Wednesday, and most importantly, an easy-going environment with knowledgeable bartenders that are eager to guide you to your perfect cocktail.

About Mike Raymond

Though the atmosphere is laid-back and cozy, the staff’s cocktail know-how is far from it.

Owner Mike Raymond is widely recognized across the industry as one of the premier bartenders in Texas.

He regularly hosts a Houston Booze Bazaar at Cottonmouth—a tasting extravaganza featuring world-renowned spirits professionals, an array of fine spirits from around the globe, rockstar mixologists, and a burgeoning community of like-minded people who gather in the name of delectable libations.
