Now in its 16th year, HRW is the largest annual fundraiser that benefits the Houston Food Bank. Prices, times, and locations vary.
- The Doyle & Debbie Show at Stages Repertory Theatre | Daily – Take a seat for Stages Repertory Theatre’s production of The Doyle and Debbie Show, which follows the story of two singers seeking renewed fame and fortune. - Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express at the Alley Theatre | Daily – Summer Chills returns to the Alley with, Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, the classic mystery that finds Belgian detective Hercule Poirot aboard the famed Orient Express train with a killer in his midst. This enduring mystery is one of the greats of the genre, and this version has been adapted by Ken Ludwig, the playwright behind the Alley’s recent production of The Three Musketeers. Times vary.
- Comedian Guy Torry at Houston Improv | Thursday to Saturday – Crack up at a comedy show by Guy Torry, who will perform three consecutive nights at The Improv. Tickets start at $20. Showtimes vary.
- Houston Astros vs. Los Angeles Angels at Minute Maid Park | Friday to Sunday – Get loud for the Astros when they take the field to play the Angels in a home game at Minute Maid Park. Tickets start at $15, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. Times vary.
- Death and the Maiden at Spring Street Studios | Friday to Sunday – Watch playwright Ariel Dorfman’s examination of human rights violations and abuses of power in a performance of Death and the Maiden, featured as part of the 2019 Houston Equity Festival. Tickets are $20. Showtimes vary.
- Formosa Circus Art at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Friday and Saturday | FREE – Ooh and ahh at a performance of musical circus art celebrating Taiwanese culture and history during Formosa Circus Art at Miller Outdoor Theatre. 8pm both nights.
- Man Overboard! at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts | Friday and Saturday – Marvel as NobleMotion’s team of dancers perform a four-part production of Man Overboard! at Hobby Center. The four adventurous dances in the set feature cutting edge collaborations and look at issues from artificial intelligence to the frenzy and chaos of wild storm front to a political satire, and more. Tickets range from $18 to $40.25. 7:30pm both days.

- The EaDo Comedy Show at CSz Arena – For this improv show, ComedySportz Houston will draw from the vibe of the East Downtown neighborhood and call on audience members to participate. $10; limited comped and discounted $5 tickets available. 8pm.

- Death by Natural Causes at Houston Museum of Natural Science – Discover a range of deadly “animal, vegetable, and mineral” specimens from the natural world at this educational exhibit in the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Full price tickets are $30 for ages 12 and up; $20 for ages 3 to 11; $20 for ages 62 and up, but discounted $19 tickets are available for most dates. 9am to 5pm.
- 5th Annual Vox Local Arts Mixer at The Phoenix on Westheimer | No Cover – Admire artists at work with live art, performances and more during the 5th annual Vox Local Arts Mixer at The Phoenix on Westheimer. Featuring local talent, the mixer allows Houstonians to engage with new and established painters, photographers, poets, dancers, jewelry makers, all under one roof.
