Celebrate an out-of-this-world achievement with exhibitions, stargazing, a film screening, an artisan market, and more at A Giant Leap: 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing at Discovery Green on Saturday, July 20, 2019.

One of the official Space City events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, A Giant Leap at Discovery Green hails the heroic mission with a free, family-friendly event that is open to the public.

The evening commemoration is packed with space-themed exhibitions and discussions, stargazing from the Texas Astronomical Society, interactive photo opportunities, a documentary screening of Apollo 11, a special nighttime edition of the artisan market Flea By Night, and much more.

A Giant Leap culminates with a dramatic countdown at 9:56pm, fifty years to the minute when Neil Armstrong took his first step on the surface of the moon.
