  • 713 Day Events Around Greater Houston | Some FREE Get your H-Town on at events, parties, concerts, and more fun things around Houston to do on 713 Day (7/13 or July, 13). Times and locations vary.
  • Hire Houston Youth On-The-Spot Hiring EventSearch and apply for the perfect summer job at Hire Houston Youth’s on-the-spot hiring event and initiative from Mayor Sylvester Turner in partnership with the local McDonald’s owners/operators of Greater Houston. 10am to 2pm.
  • Family Day: Rigs to Reefs at The Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig & Museum Discover what becomes of unused drilling platforms when the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum hosts a family day with reduced admission costs. Ages 17 and under are admitted free with a paying adult. Adult admission is $10. 10am to 3pm.
  • Dino Daze at Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center hosts a day of dinosaur-themed fun for kids. Children will hang with T-rexes and long necks as they learn how to identify fossils. There will be stories about the days when dinosaurs ruled. Tickets are $12; $11 for ages 65 and up and members. Free for under age 1. 10am to 6pm.
  • 7th Annual VegFest at Minute Maid ParkDitch the animal products at the seventh annual VegFest in Minute Maid Park, where Vegan Society of P.E.A.C.E. will showcase plant-based vendors, exhibitors, panels and more. Tickets start at $20; $15 for ages 12 to 17; $10 for ages 6 to 11; free for children 5 and under. VIP passes are available. 11am to 5pm.
  • Saint Arnold Pub Crawl and Concert at Market Square Park | No Cover – Sip Saint Arnold brews at various bars around Downtown Houston, then gather at Market Square Park for an evening of live music by the Austin-based funk band, CAPYAC. Pub crawl starts at 2pm; concert runs from 5:30pm to 7pm.
  • Texas vs. Belgium: Sour Ales Class at Public Services Wine & Whisky Sample Jester King’s elusive “Spon” Ales, along with a selection of classic Belgian sours, as Public Services hosts a Texas vs. Belgium beer tasting. The flight includes Spon 3 vintage Cuvee, Spon aged with muscat grapes, Spon aged with syrah grapes, Oud Beersel Green Walnut lambic, Cantillon Geuze, and Lindeman’s “Cuvee Rene” Geuze. Tickets cost $59 plus tax per person. 2pm to 3:30pm.
  • 18th Annual IgboFest at Discovery Green | FREE – Celebrate Nigerian culture with traditional dances and folklore with an educational twist at the 18th annual IgboFest in Discovery Green. While there, don’t miss the infamous, seven-foot-tall Ajofia Nwewi, a mystical masquerade that will be on display throughout the festival. 3pm to 10pm.
  • Taste of the Town at Baybrook Mall Come hungry to Taste of the Town at Baybrook Mall, where you and your family can nosh on bites from Houston-based eateries, sample local craft beer, enjoy live music, and hit up the shops. Tickets are $25; $10 for children ages 6 to 12. 5pm to 8pm.
  • Galveston ArtWalk on Galveston Island | No Cover Browse commercial galleries and non-profit art spaces in one of the Galveston Arts Center’s largest programs, ArtWalk. Held in the heart of Galveston’s historic district, the weekly event supports the local arts community by offering alternative places to see and learn about the visual arts. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Sexy and Successful Sip & Shop at Vixen Academy Ciao Bella hosts Sexy and Successful Sip & Shop at Vixen Academy, showcasing more than 20 women-centric vendors. There will be cocktails, food, shopping, music, and more. Attendees will be entered in raffle giveaways, get a complimentary cocktail, and a swag bag. Tickets are $5. 6pm to 9pm.
  • The Market at Sawyer Yards | No Cover – The Market at Sawyer Yards is a curated market featuring a mix of artist mediums with a focus on folk art, “maker is the seller,” and artisan crafts, including packaged specialty foods. 6pm to 10pm.
  • Prettymuch in Concert at Revention Music Center Hit the dance floor at a live show by the pop boy band, Prettymuch, when they bring their “FOMO Tour” to Revention Music Center in Downtown. Tickets start at $32, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 7pm.
  • Midsummer Nightmare: Tribute Concert at House of Blues Head to House of Blues for an evening of heavy metal tribute bands, including 138 Revamp: Tribute to Misfits, Godless: Tribute to Danzig, and No Remorse: Tribute to Metallica during the Midsummer Nightmare. Tickets are $15, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 7pm.
  • Waugh Bat Colony Boat Tours at Allen’s LandingWatch 250,000 Mexican free-tailed bats emerge from the Waugh Bridge at dusk while sitting comfortably on a boat during this tour offered by the Buffalo Bayou Partnership. $30. 7:05pm to 8:35pm
  • Houston Dash vs. Chicago Red Stars at BBVA Compass Stadium Cheer on the Dash as they play the Stars in a home game at BBVA Compass Stadium. Tickets start at $15. 7:30pm.
  • Tạ Tình 5: Love for Homeland & People at Smart Financial CentreThe musical showcase, Tạ Tình 5: Love for Homeland & People, features performances by American Idol contestant Trevor Holmes, DJ Melodie and Myra Tran with Hoang Thi Tho’s music. Tickets range from $50 to $1500. 7:30pm.
  • Ky-Mani Marley & the Konfrontation Band in Concert in West Houston – See Bob Marley’s son and his band live in concert, with a one-night-only show. Marley’s music incorporates world music, hip hop, blues, rock, and a grass roots sound. Caribbean food & drinks will be on sale. $35. 8:30pm to 2am.
  • The Lego Movie 2 Movie Screening at Sugar Land Town Square | FREE Bring the kids to a Friday night viewing of The Lego Movie 2, where Emmet, Lucy, and Batman team up to take on outer space invaders who pose a new, dangerous threat to the citizens of Bricksburg. 8:30pm.
  • Diplo in Concert at Stereo LiveHit the dance floor at a live show by EDM trailblazer Diplo, when he brings his tour to Houston’s Stereo Live. Tickets start at $69, plus fees. 10pm.
  • Decadence: Late Night Gatsby Party at Prohibition Theatre Don your pinstripes and feather boas for Prohibition Supper Club and Bar’s latest addition to its evening lineup: Decadence. Inspired by the Great Gatsby, the themed soiree will feature alternating sets by the Pink Sands Brass Band and DJ Houston, and a complimentary bottle of champagne for the best-dressed guests. Tickets are $20, but limited discounted $10 tickets are available for most parties. 11:30pm.

  • Shark Day at Downtown Aquarium Gear up for Discovery Channel’s upcoming Shark Week with a full day of shark-centric activities, where you can meet shark divers, visit conservation booths, watch dive shows, partake in arts & crafts, and win prizes at the Downtown Aquarium. Tickets for all-day adult passes cost $20.99; kids get in for $19.99. 10am to 10pm.
  • Love & Make’s Candle Making Workshop in Rice Village – Design and create a personalized wax candle with help from the team at Love & Makes in Rice Village. The BYOB workshop also features handmade goods from local artisans to shop while your candles set. $45. Noon and 4pm.
  • Día De La Frida at Karbach Brewery | No Cover – Honor the life and art of Frida Khalo with an art market, live music, a costume contest, raffles, food trucks, and themed merchandise as Karbach hosts Día De La Frida. Noon to 8pm.
  • Tex-Mex BBQ Block Party at Saint Arnold Brewing CompanyDive into unlimited samples of Tex-Mex barbecue when a curated lineup of chefs serve up their unique take on the up-and-coming style of smoked meat. Participating pitmasters include John and Veronica Avila of El Burro & the Bull, Eduardo Ortiz of Eddie O’s Texas Barbecue, Esaul Ramos of San Antonio’s 2M Smokehouse and more. Tickets are $60. 1pm to 4pm.
  • HTown Trap Brunch at India House Brunch and boogie during the HTown Trap Brunch at India House, where local promoters and DJs will host a Sunday celebration, complete with trap, reggae, hip hop, and R&B music, as well as eats, cocktails, games, and entertainment. Early bird tickets start at $35, but limited, discounted tickets start at $17.50. 1pm to 5pm.
  • Taste of Pan-Africa Food Festival at Ayva Events Center Spend your Sunday enjoying food, wine, music, and philanthropy with Taste of Pan-Africa, an event where chefs from Africa and beyond prepare authentic cuisines from their homeland. You can also shop African clothes, jewelry, shoes, bags, and accessories, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Hope For Us Charity. Tickets start at $5. 1pm to 7pm.
  • Chromeo DJ Set at Clé  Close out the weekend at the club when Chromeo performs a live DJ set at Clé. Tickets start at $15. 2pm to 8pm.
  • Summer Night Market in EaDo | No Cover Shop local artwork and vintage finds at this evening market in EaDo. Live music, food, and drinks will also be available. 3pm to 8pm.
  • Lone Star Bash at Minute Maid Park Taste gourmet eats and signature cocktails from a lineup of chefs participating in the fifth annual Lone Star Bash at Minute Maid Park. With an aim to celebrate the future of the restaurant industry, the event features live music, beer and wine, and local chefs, such as Jessica Paul and Ricardo Molina of Molina’s Cantina, Carlos Ramos of Latin Bites, Colin Shine of Frank’s Americana Revival and more. Tickets are $60 to $150. 5pm to 9pm.
