Memorial Day 2019 Festivities & Events

Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2019

  • Memorial Day 10K & 5K at St. Thomas High School Take your mark and get set to run a 10K or 5K race through Montrose in this annual, Memorial Day run. Kids can join the fun with their own 1K race, and all are welcome to enjoy food, drinks, and music at a post-race party. Registration for the 10K costs $45; 5K registration costs $35; Kids K registration costs $15. 7am to 9am.
  • Memorial Day Remembrance at George Ranch Historical Park George Ranch Historical Park hosts a Memorial Day Remembrance as a Decoration Day for the whole family to enjoy. Other activities will include cleaning the graves of the family members who served in military conflicts, exploring Memorial Day traditions that advanced from WWI, and a lunch. Cost of the lunch ranges from $4 to $15. 9am.
  • Memorial Day Ceremony at Houston National Cemetery Honor fallen war heroes at the Houston National Cemetery, where the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs will host a commemorative ceremony in observance of Memorial Day. 9:30am.
  • Memorial Day Brunch at Weights and Measures Sleep in and wake up hungry for a delicious Memorial Day brunch with morning cocktails at Weights + Measures. Menu items prices vary. 10am to 2pm.
  • City of Friendswood Memorial Day Celebration | FREE – The City of Friendswood presents a Memorial Day ceremony that includes patriotic music, a tribute to each branch of the military, a group photograph of Friendswood military veterans and active duty personnel. 10am to 11am.
  • Memorial Day Ceremony at Sugar Land Memorial Park | FREE – The City of Sugar Land will honor the U.S. Armed Forces for their selfless service by hosting its 10th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony. The program includes patriotic music, educational and commemorative activities, on-site military exhibits, a flag ceremony, and food available for purchase. 10am to 1pm.
  • Memorial Day at Memorial City | FREE – Pay tribute and celebrate Memorial Day with a tribute to the flag, live music, and fun activities for the whole family at Memorial City. 1pm to 3pm.
  • Memorial Day Bash at Bellaire Town Square | FREE – Spend Memorial Day with friends and family at the Bellaire Town Square Family Aquatic Center and enjoy fun watermelon games and relay races. 4pm to 6pm.
