Whether you want to take your love out for dinner, shake things up with a beer and cheese pairing or stay in and add a box of chocolates to your low-key plans, we’ve created a list of our favorites happening the week of Valentine’s Day 2019.

With the official holiday happening smack dab in the middle of the week, there are Valentine’s Day-themed events and dinners starting as early as Saturday, February 9 and continuing through the big day itself and beyond.

Valentine’s Dinners

  • Love, Liberty & Happiness at Liberty Kitchen & Oyster Bar | Wednesday, February 13 to Saturday, February 16 – Enjoy a romantic 3-course dinner filled with oysters, caviar, and truffles at Liberty Kitchen in the Heights. Menu items prices vary. Times vary per day.
  • Romance Under the Sea at Downtown Aquarium | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Bring your sweetheart for a romantic dinner under the sea surrounded by the wonders of the world’s ocean at Downtown Aquarium. Dinner is $99 per couple. 11am to 8:30pm.
  • Valentine’s Day at Poitín Bar & Kitchen | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Impress your Valentine with a beautiful view of Downtown and fine dining at Poitín Bar & Kitchen. Menu is TBA. You must make reservations for this event. 4pm to 10pm.
  • Red Sauce Night at Public Services Wine & Whisky | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – With the help of Theodore Rex, Public Services wine & Whisky in Downtown transforms into a romantic Italian Restaurant serving spaghetti and meatballs along with tiramisu for dessert and a special cocktail menu. Menu items prices vary. 4pm.
  • Valentine’s Day at El Big Bad | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – El Big Bad, the Downtown tequila bar known for their fresh juice margaritas, hosts a 4-course dinner for Valentine’s Day. Tickets are $45 per person. 5pm to 10pm.
  • Valentine’s Dinner at Brasserie 19 | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Join Brasserie 19 this Valentine’s Day for a 3-course, prix-fixe menu as well as specials on Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Champagne and rosé. Cost of the dinner is $65 per person. 5pm to 10pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Dim Sum Date Night at Yauatcha Houston | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Enjoy Cantonese cuisine on Valentine’s Day with a Dim Sum dinner paired with wine and other Valentine’s Day treats at Yauatcha Houston. 5pm to 10pm.
  • Valentine’s Day at Helen Greek Food & Wine – Heights | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Helen Greek Food & Wine in The Heights offers a special 3-course dinner with optional wine pairings on Valentine’s Day. $50 per person. 5pm to 10pm.
  • Valentine’s Day at The Grove Houston | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 to Sunday, February 17 – While overlooking views of Discovery Green, you can enjoy a three-course dinner of arugula salad with toasted pecans, seasonal fruit, and mustard vinaigrette; live oak-grilled NY strip and lobster tail with roasted garlic-herb butter; local grits and asparagus; and mole torte with Valrhona chocolate, strawberries, almond, and ancho chile, all served family style. $100 per couple. Times vary per day.
  • That’s Amore: Valentine’s Dinner at Johnny’s Gold Brick | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Johnny’s Gold Brick turns into a romantic Italian restaurant with a five-course dinner from Tony Lurhman of El Topo Truck and Jason and Becca Kerr of Little Kitchen HTX. $60 per person. There will be a seating at 5:30pm and 7:30pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Steak Night Special at Eureka Heights Brew Co | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Lovebirds can enjoy a dinner for two that includes a 12 oz Korean marinated steak on Valentine’s Day at Eureka Heights Brew Co. $60 for two people. 5:30pm to 8pm.
  • Saint Valentine’s Day at Le Bistro Houston | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 to Saturday, February 16 – The Culinary Institute Lenotre and LeBistro invite couples to enjoy a 3-course dinner paired with wine for Valentine’s Day. There will be a seating at 5:30pm and 8pm. Tickets start at $35 per person. 5:30pm each day.
  • Valentine’s Dinner and Cruise at Hermann Park | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Gaze at the sunset from a pedal boat cruise across McGovern Lake with your special someone, then dine al fresco at Pinewood Cafe in Hermann Park. The Valentine’s menu includes a shared appetizer plate; chicken breast or sausage served with mushrooms, spinach, and white sauce over pasta; as well as a non-alcoholic beverage, side salad, roll, and dessert. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. $60 per couple. 5:30pm to 8pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Dinner at The Dunlavy | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Join The Dunlavy for an intimate Valentine’s Day Dinner with a complimentary glass of champagne and passed hors-d’oeuvres before an elegant 3-course prix-fixe traditional or vegetarian dinner. Tickets are $95 per person. 6pm to 10pm.
  • Valentine’s Dinner at Ouisie’s Table Restaurant, Bar and Gardens | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Ouisie’s Table Restaurant, known for their decadent Southern fare, hosts a special Valentine’s Day dinner paired with wine and dessert. Menu prices vary. 6:30pm to 10pm.
  • Valentine’s Dance at Maggiano’s – Houston Post Oak Blvd | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Maggiano’s Italian restaurant on the Post Oak area hosts a Valentine’s Day Dance evening with dinner for two, wine, and live music. Tickets are $99 per couple; $50 per person. 7pm to 10pm.
  • Valentine’s Dinner Show with Kelly Willis at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Jam out to music from singer-songwriter, Kelly Willis, while enjoying a four-course dinner at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck. Tickets are $95 in advance; $100 at the door. 7:30pm.
  • Valentine’s Dinner & Dancing with The Broken Spokes at Goode Company Armadillo Palace | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Have a truly Texas dining experience in at Goode Company’s Armadillo Palace, and then two-step the night away with live music from The Broken Spokes. Menu prices vary. 7:30pm.

Valentine’s Events

  • Midtown Valentine’s Market at Elizabeth Baldwin Park | Saturday, February 9 | No Cover – Feel the love when Midtown Houston hosts a sweet Valentine’s Day Market at Elizabeth Baldwin Park. The pop-up market will feature a hand-picked selection of quality crafts and arts as well as plenty of local vendors selling unique Valentine’s Day gifts. The Valentine’s Market will be held in conjunction with Midtown’s Farmers Market. 10am to 2pm.
  • Valentine’s Beer & Cheese Tasting at Saint Arnold Brewery | Sunday, February 10 – Houston Dairymaids and Saint Arnold are teaming up for their annual Valentine’s Day tasting, pairing handcrafted beers with a variety of Texas made cheeses. Reservations are $35 per person and the event will take place in the Beer Hall. 1pm to 3pm.
  • Valentine’s Edition Art Market at Greenway Plaza | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 | No Cover – The Artisan Outdoor Market hosts a special Valentine’s Day market filled with local vendors and artists at Greenway Plaza. 10am to 2pm.
  • Victorian Sweetheart Tour at 1892 Bishop’s Palace in Galveston | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Galveston Historical Foundation’s 1892 Bishop’s Palace will open its doors for a special  Valentine’s Day Victorian Sweetheart Tour. The tour will feature champagne and chocolate and will include a discussion on the history of Victorian courting. Tickets are $30. 5:45pm to 7pm.
  • Class: Valentine’s Wine & Chocolate Pairing at The Nice Winery | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a unique experience and enjoy exquisite wine and La Goulue chocolate pairings, led by Winemaker and Sommelier, Ryan Levy at The This is a seated class so space is limited. Tickets are $69 for non-members (limit 2 tickets at this price per membership); $55 for members. 6pm to 8pm.
  • 7th Annual Valentine’s Day Battle of the Sexes Comedy Show at Warehouse Live | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – The 7th Annual Valentine’s Day Battle of the Sexes Comedy Show comes to Warehouse Live in EaDo. Hosted by Rich Williams, seen on the FOX talk show The Real, the showcase will feature Andy Huggins (seen on NBC’s America’s Got Talent), Kristin Lindner (Nickelodeon’s NickMom Nite Out), and Sheng Wang (HBO’S Two Dope QueensFresh Off the Boat). Tickets start at $20. 9pm.
  • Faking It: A Show of Love at Station Theater | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Station Theater hosts their annual V-Day tradition with local improv and stand-up scene revealing the truth about love and all things related through totally fake characters. Tickets are $8 for advance purchase; $10 at the door. 8pm to 9:30pm.
  • Valentine’s Day: Dirty Dancing at Bacchus Houston Wine & Coffee Bar | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – The Latin Dance Factory hosts a Valentine’s Day couples dancing workshop where you can learn to dance to bachata, merengue, and more at Bacchus Houston Wine & Coffee Bar. Tickets range from $45 to $60 per couple. 8pm to 10:30pm.
  • Valentine’s Day Dance with Motion Potion at Shoeshine Charley’s Big Top Lounge | Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14 – Take your date out for a Valentine’s Day Dance with the ’60s music style band, Motion Potion at Shoeshine Charley’s Big Top. $5 suggested donation. 9pm.
