The Bayou City Music Series wraps up this fall with a special performance at Discovery Green honoring Houston blues, jazz, and soul.


Bayou City Music Series welcomes Houston native James Francies on the piano, performing music from his upcoming debut album for the legendary Blue Note Record Label.

At just 22 years old, Francies has risen to prominence as one of the premiere pianists of his generation, frequently appearing with The Roots on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, as well as playing alongside numerous jazz greats.

Singer-songwriter Diunna Greenleaf opens the concert with a gospel and blues vocalist performance.

The Bayou City Music Series

A new concert series presented by the Kinder Foundation, the Bayou City Music Series honors Houston’s great jazz, blues, and zydeco musicians with a series a free concerts.

After wrapping its successful summer series, the concerts continue this fall at three landmark Houston parks—The Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Park, Emancipation Park, and Discovery Green. This is the last of the three concerts.
