Revel in the Halloween season with a Haunted House, a Halloween Classic Car Show, and a Dia de los Muertos Celebration taking place at the National Museum of Funeral History during October and November, 2018.

Along with costumes, candy corn, and creepy-crawlies, Halloween brings a goulishly delightful series of events to the National Museum of Funeral History this fall season.

Throughout October and early November, three events beckon visitors to the museum for Halloween activities that range from frightening to the festive.

Annual, Family-Friendly Haunted House

For 2018, visitors will experience a new haunted house experience. This year, they’ll explore the town of Deadford Falls in a post-nuclear meltdown scene that chills to the bone.

The Haunted House is rated PG-13 and is recommended for ages 12 and up. Children 11 and under are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.

All surprises are automated, so adults can rest easy knowing that no actors or other amateur scarers will be lurking around the corner, waiting to pop out screaming or grabbing at wrists.

Uncertain parents and guardians are encouraged to walk through the Haunted House first, before deciding whether it’s a fit for their kiddos.

Tickets for the Haunted House are $5 for adults and $3 for kiddos 11 and under. Admission to the Haunted House is half off when you purchase admission to the museum.

Open daily from Monday, October 1 through Sunday, November 4, 2018. Click here for more information on the Halloween Haunted House.

11th Annual Halloween Classic Car Show

Now entering its second decade, the Halloween Classic Car Show is happening on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 10am to 3pm.

The all-ages event gathers more than 150 vehicles, ranging from classic to contemporary, many decked out in spooky décor for a day of Halloween fun.

Enjoy the fall festival atmosphere with face painting, arts and crafts for the kids, great food from local vendors, a live DJ, silent auction, and more.

Families are also encouraged to come in costume and trick-or-treat from trunk-to-trunk before competing in the costume contest at noon.

Stick around until 3pm for special trophies to be awarded to Best of Show Car, Truck, and Modern Vehicle, as well as Best Decorated vehicle.

Proceeds from the Halloween Car Show benefit Star of Hope, Morning Glory Ranch, The Shriner’s Burn Hospital, Houston Food Bank, DePelchin Children’s Center and The USO.

Tickets are $10 per person or $15 per couple/family and does not include admission to the museum.

The event happens on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 10am to 3pm. Click here for more information on the 11th Annual Halloween Car Show.

Dia de los Muertos Celebration

Authentic Day of the Dead altars created by local artists will be on display, and visitors will have a chance to commemorate their loved ones by leaving a message in the “Book of the Dead”.

Along with fun parent-supervised activities for the children, visitors can check out a free viewing of the Disney animated film Coco, which follows a little boy that journeys into the Land of the Dead to seek forgiveness from his ancestors and lift a curse.

The Dia de los Muertos Celebration is included with general admission to the museum. Tickets for the museum are $10 for adults; $9 for seniors and veterans; $7 for children ages 6 to 11; and free for children 5 and younger.
