Explore the charmingly decorated bedrooms, reading nooks, and living spaces of the Southern Living Beyond the Storm Showcase Home in Braes Heights on Saturday, September 22 & Sunday, September 23, and Saturday, September 29 & Sunday, September 30, 2018.

In partnership with the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, the Stone Acorn Builders’ Southern Living Beyond the Storm Showcase Home invites Houstonians to tour a charismatic abode that features subtle and appealing design flourishes from the minds of local and regional interior designers.

More than a year after Hurricane Harvey wrought havoc into the Braes Heights neighborhood, the former site of a storm-damaged bungalow has found new life as a Southern Living Showcase Home, designed and built by Stone Acorn Builders.

Touring the Home

The Southern Living Showcase Home, a modern farmhouse-style design totaling 6,076-square-foot, features an expansive layout with five bedrooms, five bathrooms, media room, game room, and a fabulous gourmet kitchen anchoring the dining room and breakfast area.

The captivating interior design throughout the home is managed by Lindsey Herod Interiors and Meg Lonergan Interiors, members of the Southern Living Designer Network.

The showcase home also includes a large family library and multiple reading nooks throughout—a major feature by the brother-and-sister team of Stone Acorn Builders’ Sarah Lavine-Kass and Benjamin Lavine.
