- Houston Restaurant Weeks 2018 | Daily – Dine out for a great cause when nearly 250 of Houston’s hottest eateries offer a multi-course brunch, lunch, and/or dinner at an often-discounted price during Houston Restaurants Weeks 2018. Now in its 15th year, HRW is the largest annual fundraiser that benefits the Houston Food Bank. Prices, times, and locations vary.
- Deli Month at Kenny & Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen Restaurant | Daily – Chow down on a three-course menu of items like stuffed kishka, matzo ball soup, and Hungarian goulash when both locations of Kenny & Ziggy’s participate in the nationwide fundraiser, Deli Month. Proceeds benefit the Holocaust Museum Houston. $37.
- The Tamarie Cooper Show: Field Trip! at MATCH | Daily – Hop on board a metaphysical field trip with Tamarie Cooper, a local actress, and playwright known for her hilarious musical theatre. - The Landing Theatre presents Oleanna at 14 Pews | Daily – Take a seat for Oleanna, David Mamet’s politically relevant play that follows a college professor who is accused of sexual harassment after discussing a paper with his female student. Tickets start at $15. Showtimes vary.
- Evening Chill at Houston Zoo | Friday and Saturday – Scope out your favorite animals without melting from the summer heat when the Houston Zoo extends its hours for the Evening Chill. Zoo-goers can also enjoy live music and family-friendly activities after sundown. Tickets start at $11. 5pm to 8pm both nights.
- Feeling Groovy 4 at Music Box Theater | Friday and Saturday – Groove on down to your favorite tunes from the ‘60s and ‘70s when Music Box Theater presents Feeling Groovy 4, an all-new musical featuring songs by Simon & Garfunkel, Fleetwood Mac, Glen Campbell, Diana Ross, The Carpenters, The Bee Gees, and Barbra Streisand. Tickets start at $29, but limited, discounted $14.50 general admission tickets are available for select shows. 7:30pm both nights..
- Love & Make’s Candle Making Workshop in Rice Village | Saturday and Sunday – Spend an afternoon or date night learning how to make soy-wax candles. - Listen Local: Music on the Plaza with Patric Johnson at The Brown Foundation Plaza | FREE – Get down to groovy tunes from local indie rocker Patric Johnson when he performs as part of MFAH’s summer music series, Listen Local: Music on the Plaza. You can nosh on food from Popston and Spicy Dog and check out the museum’s newest green space, The Brown Foundation, Inc. Plaza. 5pm to 8pm.
- Date Night Cooking Class: Creole at Brennan’s of Houston – Bring your special someone to cook delicious Creole dishes during a date night cooking class in the famed Midtown eatery. The menu will feature deviled crab-stuffed mirliton, creole-spiced palacios redfish, and a bananas foster crepe. $150 per couple. 6:30pm to 9pm.
