Have your perfect “Cinco” Saturday at Houston’s big, new Cinco in the City blowout celebration

Revel through the day with extended family, then celebrate at night with the grown-ups at the Houston’s inaugural, something-for-everyone Cinco in the City celebrations at Silver Street Station on Cinco de Mayo, Saturday, May 5, 2018. 

The event begins with a family experience from 11am to 3pm. From 3pm until 7pm, the fun continues with a short siesta filled with tunes by DJ M.

The biggest celebration resumes at 7pm with fun and excitement designed for grown-ups.

Throughout the day, there will be authentic bites from the likes of Chef Monica Pope and Cuchara restaurant, live entertainment, live painting by Gonzo247, dancing, art activities, and more.

Daytime Family Experience

Featuring regional samplings from Cuchara Restaurant and Jarritos, vendors will be selling treats like aguas frescas, churros, elote, and more.

Musical acts on the main stage will include mariachis, ballet folklorico, and Aztec dancers. Indivisible Art Projects will showcase an interactive Frida Kahlo exhibit for kids to learn about the life of the artist and create their own project inspired by her work.

Tickets are $10; $5 for ages 12 and under. VIP tickets for adults are $45 and include food and drink samples, access to Tres Papalote VIP Lounge and a michelada bar. Click here to order or for more information.

Margaritas & Mezcal Experience

Live entertainment includes a performance by Houston’s own Bulbo, a Selena impersonator, and a group salsa lesson by Love Dance Houston.

Revelers can sample tamales, homemade tortillas turned into quesadillas, and a roasted pig prepared by talented Houston chefs including Monica Pope.

Beloved local arts, muralist, and Houston spokesperson Gonzo247 of Aerosol Warfare will be on hand, painting in real time.

VIP guests will learn about mezcal with a formal tasting from Cheech Marin’s top-shelf Mezcal brand, Tres Papalote Mezcal, complete with accoutrements such as crickets and fresh melon.
