Celebrate the flavors of African-American, African, and Caribbean cuisine at Soundbites: Food Truck Festival on Saturday, April 28, 2018 and the third annual Houston Black Restaurant Week 2018, happening daily through Sunday, April 29, 2018.

Participating restaurants and food trucks around greater Houston are offering special menus, while the signature festival showcase event, Soundbites: Food Truck Festival presented by Coca-Cola, happens on Saturday, April 28 at Peggy Park in the Museum District.

At Soundbites, guests and foodies of all backgrounds can look forward to multiple food trucks, a fully-stocked bar, live music, a marketplace, kids zone, farmers market, and live community demos.

The full two-week dining series showcases the talent and variety of Houston’s well-accomplished black culinary professionals. Diners can discover amazing cuisines and flavors  —drawing from traditional and modern African-American, African, and Caribbean dishes.

Soundbites: Food Truck Festival

Hungry guests of all backgrounds can check out the HOUBRW’s food fest, highlighting a delicious assortment of black food trucks and food stands owners, family fun, and music spun by some of Houston’s hottest DJs.

Taking place on Saturday, April 28 from noon to 8pm, Soundbites has added more to the mix in its second year with a marketplace presented by the Greater Houston Black Chamber.

More than 10 different food trucks and food stands will be present, serving everything from caribbean jerk chickenjuicy wings to delicious crawfish.

Attendees will indulge in the diverse flavors of African, African-American, and Caribbean cuisine, from spicy and savory, to sweet and subtle, with options suited for every taste and diet, including vegan and vegetarian selections.

Special Menus During Houston Black Restaurant Week

Like with other Houston area restaurant weeks, Houstonians can take advantage of special menus for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and happy hour at participating restaurants around greater Houston.

Restaurants include Lucille’s in the Museum District, Kitchen 713 on Washington Avenue, Mikki’s Soul Food in southwest Houston, The Address in South Houston, B’s Wine Bar in Missouri City, The French Fry House in the Third Ward, and 20 others.
