The two-week series serves as a platform for exposure to the variety of well-accomplished black culinary professionals who have created a legacy of providing delicious food throughout the Greater Houston area.
In addition to the Nosh showcase of new and well-known restaurants on Thursday, April 19, HOUBRW is also known for its large lineup of hot-ticket events.
Nosh Culinary Showcase
Hungry guests can check out the HOUBRW’s signature culinary showcase Nosh presented by Verizon, which highlights Houston’s best black chefs, caterers, and bartenders, on Thursday, April 19 at the historic Buffalo Soldiers National Museum.
Hosted by ABC 13’s Chauncy Glover, Nosh attendees will enjoy an evening of live cooking demonstrations featuring an all-star lineup of chefs, including Shakti Baum, Tiffani Janelle, Vicky V, and an array of tastings and competitions featuring over 20 of Houston’s top caterers and executive chefs.
Attendees will indulge in the diverse flavors of African, African-American, and Caribbean cuisine.
Flavors range from spicy and savory to sweet and subtle, with options suited for every taste and diet, including vegan and vegetarian selections.
Power of the Palate
In addition to Nosh, thirsty visitors can enjoy libations at HOUBRW’s bartending competition Power of the Palate.
This year, HOUBRW combined the excitement of Nosh with this popular competition sponsored by Martell, making for a tastier and thirst-quenching experience.
Power of the Palate will feature Houston’s top black bartenders, creating craft cocktails with the freshest ingredients from local farms, while participants indulge in their delicious creations and vote for their favorite cocktails.
