Savor seasonal beers from 12 craft breweries during a jazz-filled evening fundraiser at Holiday Brews on the Bayou at Bayou Bend on Saturday, December 9, 2017.

Like may Houston institutions, Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens (the MFAH house museum on Memorial Drive) was impacted by Hurricane Harvey. The site was closed for some time after the storm due to electrical/mechanical system damage and flooding of the historic gardens.

Originally planned as Bayou Bend’s annual Brews on the Bayou, the event was rescheduled and reimagined as a holiday fundraiser filled with lip-smacking brews, chill conversation, and live jazz from the Grain Free Quartet. Best yet, 100% of ticket proceeds go toward helping restore Bayou Bend.

Guests will raise glasses of special brews from 12 local favorites – including Saint Arnold, 8th Wonder, Spindletap, and Karbach. Plus, they can sample additional brews, knowing that their purchase is directly helping a Houston landmark recover from Harvey.

Musical Entertainment at Brews for Bayou Bend

Visitors to the evening fundraiser can enjoy the jazzy sounds of Houston’s own Grain Free Quartet, who blend the sounds of traditional and cutting-edge modern jazz music.

Influenced by contemporary, straight-ahead jazz, and ‘90s-era orchestral jazz musicians, the band’s sound pays tribute to artists such as Brad Mehldau, Joshua Redman, and Koji Kondo (composer of the music for Nintendo’s famous Legend of Zelda series).
