Step out with your favorite pups on a fall morning filled with fun exploration for canines and their families at Bark in the Park at Grand Central Park on Saturday morning, November 4, 2017.
The morning’s big event is a hike for dogs and their humans, winding through Grand Central Park’s newly opened nature trail system. Normally reserved only for community residents, the loop winds through gorgeous wooded areas surrounding the community.
The dog walk walk is an opportunity for the public to explore the great outdoors and the exceptional, active lifestyle enjoyed by Grand Central Park residents. Trekkers can choose between a 1-mile and 2.5-mile route.
Following 8am registration at the Lake House inside Grand Central Park, the walk begins at 9am. A celebration of all things canine follows at the “After Paw-ty.”

Live Entertainment, Family Fun & Pup-Powered Performances
Post-trek fun will include a range of doggie-themed activities, including a kissing booth featuring adorable pups. There will also be music, contests, pet vendors, food trucks, face painting, and a (people-only) bouncy house.
Houston Disc Dogs will headline the live entertainment, showcasing the high-flying antics of their fast and furry canine athletes.
Benefitting Pet Rescue Organizations
Proceeds from the event will help Operation Pets Alive, a local pet organization, continue its mission to promote and provide resources, education, and programs needed to help animals.
“So many pets were displaced during Hurricane Harvey, and this will help organizations dedicated to helping animals in times of need,” said Virgil Yoakum, general manager of Grand Central Park.

“Bark in the Park is a way to celebrate what they do and introduce people to the grandeur of Grand Central Park.”
The Fine (Paw) Prints
To participate in Bark in the Park, dogs should be leashed and wearing their current identification and rabies tags. Female dogs cannot be in heat. No more than two dogs per walker will be allowed.
