- Escape to Margaritaville at Hobby Center | Daily – Escape to a performance of this hilarious musical featuring original songs and several Jimmy Buffett classics, playing at the Hobby Center. Tickets start at $35; limited discounted $35 tickets for better seats available. 7:30pm.
- International Quilt Festival at George R. Brown Convention Center | Daily – Sit in on lectures, luncheons and classes, and check out pieces on the showroom floor at the annual Quilt Festival Houston. $12. Thursday 7:30am to 8:30pm; Friday 7:30am to 9pm; Saturday 7:30am to 9:30pm; Sunday 8:30am to 4pm.
- Dia de los Muertos Celebration at National Museum of Funeral History | Thursday to Saturday – Learn all about the Latin customs for Dia de los Muertos at the National Museum of Funeral History with authentic altars, activities for the kiddos and the chance to leave a deceased loved one with a message in the Book of the Dead. Included with admission. Thursday and Friday 10am to 4pm; Saturday 10am to 5pm; Sunday noon to 5pm.
- Astros Celebrations, Events, Parties & Offers Around Houston | Thursday to Saturday – Wear orange and celebrate the ‘Stros historic World Series win, and get free and discounted goodies in the process.
- Sender at The Rec Room | Thursday to Saturday – Rec Room Arts presents Sender, a regional premiere of a raucous new comedy by Ike Holter that follows the story of a millennial who is presumed dead and returns to his friends, family, and social media a year later. $25. 8pm nightly.
- Balloonacy Children’s Play at A.D. Players Theater | Thursday to Saturday – A lonely old man celebrating his birthday gets a pleasant surprise when a red balloon drifts in through his window and unexpectedly transforms his life. This children’s play will have performances through the weekend at A.D. Players Theater. $20; limited discounted $10 tickets available. 10:30am daily.
- Chantal Warehouse Sale at Chantal Corp | Friday to Sunday – Shop overstocked and discontinued gourmet products and cookware at steep discounts at Chantal’s warehouse sale. Friday and Saturday 9am to 6pm; Sunday noon to 5pm.
- Texas Renaissance Festival in Todd Mission | Saturday and Sunday – Calling all lords and ladies to the far north for the Texas Renaissance Festival. - Picnic in the Park at Levy Park – This fundraiser for SEARCH Homeless Services brings more than a dozen restaurants together for an evening of food under the stars in Levy Park. Tickets start at $100. 6pm to 9pm.
- First Thursday on Mid Main – This month’s First Thursday on Mid Main benefits relief efforts along the Coast, with live music from Say Girl Say and Amanda Pascali. $5. 6pm.
- 11th Annual Day of the Dead Rock Stars at Cactus Music | FREE – The artist Carlos Hernandez and the Record Ranch Gallery (located inside Cactus Music) presents the 11th annual Day of the Dead Rock Stars show. This unique exhibit will memorialize deceased recording artists rock, country, jazz, blues, etc., in the tradition of Dia de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. 6pm to 9pm.
- Dia de los Muertos Benefit for Puerto Rico at Under the Volcano – Celebrate the Day of the Dead while raising funds for Puerto Rico at Under the Volcano with a taco bar, DJ, and margarita specials. 6pm to 10pm.
- Oysters, Brews and Blues at Goode Company Armadillo Palace – Oyster season is back, and this event brings food and music together to benefit the rebuilding of Galveston Bay following Harvey. $75. 6:30pm.
- Sunset on the Bayou BBP Gala at The Water Works – Support Buffalo Bayou Partnership at this gala where you’ll dine al fresco in the park. Tickets start at $600. 6:30pm to 10pm.
- Tsuru at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – Inspired by the Japanese folktale “The Crane Wife”, this contemporary dance was commissioned by Asia Society and will incorporate live music and a graceful story. 7:30pm.

- Astros’ World Series Championship Win Parade | FREE – Welcome the World Series Champs back to Houston with festive floats, marching bands and more, at the Astros’ World Series Championship Win Parade in Downtown. The parade kicks off this Friday at 2pm at the intersection of Smith and Lamar and will head north to Walker Street where our boys in orange will head east on Walker street. 2pm.
- Iron & Wine in Concert at The Heights Theatre – Folk band Iron & Wine will perform a live concert with special guest John Moreland at The Heights Theatre. 7pm.
- Holiday Booze Craft Class at Level Office in the Theater District – Sample infused alcohol and learn how to make your own that you’ll take home with you to use just in time for the holidays. You’ll also make your own bitters. $38. 7pm to 9pm.
- Feast with the Beasts at the Houston Zoo – Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will headline this year’s Feast with the Beasts fundraiser at the Houston Zoo, where guests wine and dine with the best from more than 60 local restaurants. VIP tickets will get you in early with special animal experiences and an open bar. Tickets start at $119. 7pm to 11pm.
- Wait Until Dark at Playhouse 1960 – Terrorized by criminals, a blind housewife devises a game of cat and mouse that unfolds in the dark of night. The story comes to life on stage as Wait Until Dark, performed by Playhouse 1960. $15; limited discounted $9 tickets available. 8pm.
- ComedySportz Match Improv Show at CSz Arena – Crack up as you participate in this interactive improv show from ComedySportz. $20; limited discounted $10 tickets available. 8pm.

- Feathers and Teeth at Studio 101 – Mildred’s Umbrella Theater Company presents this bone-chilling yet wildly funny play about a thirteen-year-old girl who has determined that her father’s new fiancé is evil.
