  • Hope Now for Texas Homeowners at Chinese Community Center | FREE – Individuals and families affected by Hurricane Harvey can find mortgage assistance and help with insurance questions regarding their property. Mortgage companies, HUD-approved nonprofit housing counselors, insurance companies, and other local partners have joined together to form Mortgage Assistance Centers in Houston to help lead families down the road of recovery. 11am to 8pm.
  • Happy Hour Thursdays at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston | No Cover – Tip back exhibition-inspired cocktails, nosh on food truck bites, and check out the MFAH’s latest displays. Museum admission is always free on Thursdays. 5pm to 9pm.
  • First Thursday on Mid MainEnjoy live music from Rick Broussard’s Two Hoots and a Holler, art, complimentary beverages, local vendors and more benefitting the Aurora Picture Show at this block party. $5. 6pm.
  • Ghost Tour Dinners at Hotel GalvezGet spooked as you roam through Hotel Galvez’s haunted rooms and then relax a bit as you sit down in the Galvez Bar and Grill for dinner. $56. 6pm.
  • Oktoberfest 2017 at Memorial City | FREE – Memorial City Mall is going Deutsch with an evening of music, dancing, beer and Bavarian-style food. 6pm to 8pm.
  • Flocktoberfest at the Houston ZooNosh on samples from Houston restaurants paired with beer from Saint Arnold, listen in on a Keeper Chat, meet ambassador animals and explore the various habitats at the Houston Zoo. $40. 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
  • Houston Rockets vs. Shanghai Sharks at Toyota Center The Sharks will travel to Clutch City for a Preseason game against our Houston Rockets at Toyota Center. Tickets start at $23. 7pm.
  • Ty Herndon in Concert at Discovery Green | FREE – Enjoy an outdoor concert by Ty Herndon and openers The Band Hennessy at this Show Your Pride Night edition of Thursday Night Concerts at Discovery Green park. 7pm.
  • Houston Dynamo vs. Cruz Azul at BBVA Compass Stadium Cheer on the Dynamo as they hit the field to play against Cruz Azul at the BBVA Compass Stadium. Get there early to catch an all stars game. Tickets start at $30. 8pm.
