Celebrate Día de los Muertos, Latin America’s Day of the Dead at dinners, parties, and family festivals throughout Houston from Thursday, October 27 through Saturday, November 5, 2016.

  • Dia de Los Muertos Festival at MECA | Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30 | FREE – MECA will host a family-friendly Dia de Los Muertos celebration with a fashion show, Latin American food, crafts and more at their Dow School Campus. 11am to 7pm both days.

  • Dia de Los Muertos Celebration at Lawndale Art Center – Join Lawndale Art Center for a celebration featuring an exhibition and silent auction of local artist-created retablos and a festive atmosphere. Tickets start at $35, not including ticket fees. 7pm to 9pm.

  • Dia De Los Muertos Block Party at Don Carlos Mexican Restaurant | FREE to Attend – Explore and experience the historical, heritage-rich neighborhoods of the Greater East End at the Third Annual Dia De Los Muertos Block Party. Be ready for a full day of family-friendly fun, food, art, live music, tradition and celebration. Noon to 7pm.
  • Dia De Los Muertos Chef Led Tour with the Houston Wave – Hop aboard the Houston Wave to explore Houston’s authentic Mexican restaurant scene during this chef-led tour with father-daughter duo Monica Richards and Arnaldo Richards of Picos. $190. 1pm to 5pm.

  • Day of the Dead Dinner at Cuchara Restaurant Cuchara Restaurant hosts a Day of the Dead 4-course candlelight dinner with a performance from Aztec dancers. Cost of the dinner is $100 per person and requires reservations. 5pm to 11pm.

  • Dia De Los Muertos Celebration at the National Museum of Funeral History Come celebrate the Day of the Dead at the National Museum of Funeral History. Explore authentic altars made by local artists, commemorate your loved one by leaving them a message in the Book of the Dead, and bring mementos of the dearly departed to help build the museum’s community altar. There will be sweet treats, fun activities and a story time for kids with special costumed characters. Museum admission includes entry into the Day of the Dead Celebration. Noon to 5pm.
