Gram the perfect photo or record a video dancing in front of the inspirational Keep On Dancing wall art at Cottonwood in Garden Oaks.

Featuring silhouettes of a man and woman dancing as if no one was watching, the simple but powerful mural proclaims, “This world is a dance floor…keep on dancing!”

With the lovable street art’s placement being visible from both North and South Shepherd near 34th Street, more and more photos seem to be popping up every day in photo feeds of the mural at the well-known bar in the Garden Oaks area of the Heights.

It’s a very simple design with very little color and created using stencils, but the minimalistic style allows for the viewer to focus less on the artwork and more on the simple message of finding time to take life less seriously and dance.

As more have noticed it, it’s quickly become a popular backdrop for all sorts of photo-ops.

All credit is due to this still unknown artist. If you are planning to visit the Cottonwood Mural, please be aware there’s an active railroad track located directly next to it.

About Cottonwood

The Cottonwood mural is located on the exterior of a building in the parking lot at Cottonwood Bar. This small free-standing building is currently being used for bar storage by the owners. Just across the parking lot from it sits Cottonwood.

Featuring a large craft beer selection with 40-plus taps, a menu that boasts notable burgers and wings, a massive patio with picnic tables, a deck for live music, an outside bar, and large flat screens, the laid-back gastropub vibes of Cottonwood are worth checking out after you work up an appetite dancing.
