- Houston Italian Festival at the Italian Cultural & Community Center | Daily – Enjoy a weekend of music, contests and family fun, complete with a grape stomp, bocce tournament, pasta-eating contest, Italian folk dancing, kids activities and more during the 38th Annual Houston Italian Festival. Tickets start at $6 in advance, not including ticket fees. Thursday 5pm to 10pm; Friday and Saturday 11am to 10pm; Sunday 11am to 6pm.
- National Gumbo Days at Liberty Kitchens | Daily – Dine out at any of the Liberty Kitchen locations this weekend and order the chef’s unique gumbo offering – we’re talking options from smoked quail and duck confit gumbo to wild boar sausage and alligator gumbo – to help raise money that will be used to bring much needed water filters to communities in Ecuador. Times vary by location.
- Fashion X Houston at Silver Street Studios | Thursday to Saturday – See collections from emerging and established designers from around the world during this three-day event featuring runway shows and a gallery of pieces from jewelry and accessory designers. Tickets start at $30, not including ticket fees. 6:30pm daily.
- Fall Flights to Feed the Hungry at Your Pie in Downtown | Friday and Saturday – Savor five delicious 4oz beer tasters along with a personal, ten-inch pizza that you design yourself. $20 and 10% of all orders go to support the Houston Food Bank. 4pm to 11pm.
- Zoo Boo at the Houston Zoo | Friday to Sunday – Zoo Boo is back. Bring your little pumpkins to the zoo for photos in the pumpkin patch, trick-or-treating, costume parades and more. Entrance to Zoo Boo is included with zoo admission. Friday 9am to 1pm; Saturday and Sunday 9am to 4pm.
- Made in Texas at The Music Box Theatre | Friday and Sunday – Enjoy the music of artists like Willie Nelson, Janis Joplin, George Strait and more during this musical show celebrating iconic artists from Texas. $27; limited discounted $13.50 tickets available. Friday 7:30pm; Sunday 2pm.
- Bike Around the Bay in Galveston | Saturday and Sunday – Bike 170 miles around the entire Galveston Bay estuary during this annual ride that raises funds to preserve the bay. Registration starts at $25, not including ticket fees. 7:30am both days.

- Galveston Appreciation Day at Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier – Celebrate the beaches, restaurants, and take advantage of the ride specials at the Pleasure Pier for Galveston Appreciation Day. 1pm to 8pm.
- Back to the ’80s Bingo Night at Hotel Derek – Go back in time to play bingo at the ’80s Bingo Night at Hotel Derek while jamming out to Madonna & Prince and enjoying 80s-themed drinks and light bites. Cost is $35. 6pm to 9pm.
- Poke Bowl Cooking Class at Central Market – Learn the basics of building a poke bowl during this cooking class at Central Market. Guests will have the opportunity to fill their bowls with ingredients like salmon, cooked octopus, mango, seaweed, avocado and more. $50. 6:30pm.
- The Bronze Gold Speakeasy at Prohibition Supperclub & Bar – Head to the Prohibition Theater for this variety show featuring everything from a live band and comedian to an aerial artist and a juggler. $20, but you may find limited discounted $10 tickets. 7pm.
- Out for Good 2016 at The Crystal Ballroom of the Rice Hotel – Join The Montrose Center for a dinner celebrating National Coming Out Day benefiting Houston’s LGBT Center at The Crystal Ballroom in the Rice Hotel. Tickets start at $150, with a table for ten starting at $1250. 7pm to 9pm.
- The Marvelous Wonderettes: Dream On at Stages Repertory Theatre – Go back to the ’60s and ’70s with this musical that features hits like “I Will Survive”, “Build Me Up Buttercup” and more. $21 to $58, you may find limited discounted $15 and $18 tickets for select shows. 7:30pm.
- Pop-Up with Chef Oscar Gutierrez at Glitter Karaoke – Glitter Karaoke hosts another one of their Thursday Pop-Up’s with Chef Oscar Gutierrez. You must RSVP for this event. 8pm.
- Kellie Pickler in Concert at Arena Theatre – See American Idol finalist, Dancing With the Stars winner and country singer Kellie Pickler perform live at Arena Theatre. Tickets range between $29.50 to $49.50; limited discounted $26.50 tickets available. 8:30pm.

- RBQ + Brennan’s Night Out at The MATCH – Join the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra’s brass quintet for pre-concert cocktails, a performance of From Russia with Valves, and a three-course dinner at Brennan’s afterward. $80. 6pm.
- Dia de la Hispanidad at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – Cuban singer Aymee Nuviola will bring her genre-spanning hits to the stage of Miller Outdoor Theatre for an evening of music under the stars. 7pm.
- Houston Symphony presents The Sounds of Simon & Garfunkel at Jones Hall – Folk-rock duo AJ Swearingen and Jonathan Beedle capture the essence of Simon and Garfunkel’s 1960s counterculture harmonies, complete with beautiful acoustic arrangements of standards like “Mrs. Robinson,” “Homeward Bound,” “Sounds of Silence” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” Tickets start at $25. 8pm.
- Marc Anthony in Concert at Toyota Center – Watch Puerto Rican singer Marc Anthony sing hits like “I Need To Know” when he makes his way to town to play at the Houston Toyota Center. Tickets start at $61, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 8pm.
- Big Bad Mouse at Theatre Suburbia – Get tickets to see the hilarious 1960s British play Big Bad Mouse – now playing at the all-volunteer playhouse Theatre Suburbia. $16; limited discounted $8 tickets available. 8:30pm.
- 7th Annual Erotic Ball at Laroux – The Washington Avenue nightclub will host an evening of adult-only fun featuring DJs, fashion vendors, art and more. Tickets start at $25; limited discounted $15 tickets available. 9pm.
