Enjoy the music of singer song-writer Daniel Johnston backed by a slew of local comedians and performers at House Party Comedy on Saturday, June 18, 2016.
Regarded as an important figure in outsider, lo-fi, and alternative music scenes, Johnston’s work gained him notoriety in Austin, TX during the mid-80’s after his habit of handing out recordings to people he met caught the attention of locals.
His heartfelt live performances and sincere lyrics became highly-anticipated releases and spread like wildfire. Since his humble beginnings, Johnston in 2016 finds himself with a devout international following for his music, artwork, and even a documentary showcasing his life.
About House Party Comedy
Featuring magicians, sketch performers, musicians, and of course, comedians, House Party Comedy is a collective show presented by the Secret Group held within a home located in Midtown.
Complimentary pizza and drinks from Pabst Blue Ribbon will be available for guests in this 9th installment by House Party Comedy. Due to a limited capacity of 100 guests, there will be a showing at 7pm and 9:30pm on Saturday.
