Get set & go to Sam Houston Race Park’s quarter horse opening day

Head to the track for Sam Houston Race Park’s Opening Day festivities on Friday, March 25, 2016.

Entry  to the Opening Day celebration comes complete with quarter horse races and 50 cent beer. Admission is free for anyone with a valid military ID to celebrate Military Appreciation Day.

Located in northwest Houston, the park is known for hosting both Thoroughbred horse racing and American Quarter Horse each year complete with country, rock and classic rock concerts.

In addition to the one mile track and seven furlong course for the horses, Sam Houston Race Park offers 8 bars, 2 restaurants, suites and many concession areas on their Paddock and Club levels.

  • Parking: Paid lot parking is available in the surrounding area
