Get in the mood for the raw sound of Protomartyr at Walter’s Downtown on Thursday, February 25, 2016.

Having released three albums in three years since their formation, to say the post-punk band have been busy would be understatement of the year.

There is a sense of urgency to not only the prolific nature of the band, but also the music which seems to form a tighter grip upon the listener with each album’s release.

Protomartyr does an impressive job of combining the moody soundscapes of 70’s UK post-punk with the raw feelings of their Detroit origins.

Think: Wire’s sound meets the urgency of The Stooges.
