As we look back on what a great year 2015 was, we’re looking forward to celebrating the countdown to 2016 at great New Year’s Eve parties around Houston.

From special dinner menus and parties at your favorite neighborhood bar to extravagant hotel parties, concerts and family-friendly bashes, there are many events – at every price point – to choose from.


  • Party Before the Party in Crossroads at House of Blues | FREE to attend – Before your big countdown, enjoy happy hour specials on food and drink or pop in for hoppin’ rock, blues and zydeco tunes from the The Bourbon Street Band. Happy hour 4pm to 7pm. Live music from 7pm to 11pm.
  • The Red Party at the Nightingale Room | FREE to attend – Dress in red cocktail attire as the bar takes on a red hue. Everyone gets a complimentary masquerade mask and a midnight champagne toast. There is no cover; six five-person booths with complementary champagne are available with a $300 deposit. 4pm to 2am.
  • The New Year’s Eve Jazz Gala at Four Season Hotel – Get dressed up for this black-tie affair at the Four Seasons. Choose between two seatings, the first with a dance quartet and the second with music from Paul English’s Little Big Band Dinner, and then countdown to midnight with a champagne toast and balloon drop. Dinner starts at $110; overnight packages start at $449. Reservations required. 5:30pm and 8:30pm.
  • ROAR 20.15 in Foundation Room at House of Blues | FREE to attend – Hop in the lift and head into Houston’s most high profile speakeasy for a roaring twenties party with complete with tunes from the Hale Baskin Jazz Trio, followed by beats from DJ Baby Roo. Snazzy cocktail attire and 1920s costumed highly encouraged. 6pm to 12am.
  • New Year’s Eve Houston hosted by the Theater District | FREE – Jam to music from The Tontons and The B-52’s and enjoy special performances from the Theater District during this family-friendly celebration that closes out the evening with a fireworks show. 7pm to 12:30am.
  • 38th Annual New Year’s Eve at the Hyatt Regency Houston – Live it up in the grand atrium of the Hyatt Regency, with a midnight drop of 50,000 balloons and four floors showcasing two live bands and a DJ. $99; Overnight packages start at $299. 7pm to 1am.
  • New Year’s Eve 2016 at Henke & Pillot – Indulge in a buffet and passed hor d’ouvres with a champagne toast, party favors and balloon drop at midnight during Henke & Pillot’s NYE bash. Tickets start at $25. 7pm to 2am.
  • The Suffers in Concert at House of Blues – Spend New Year’s Eve with The Suffers during a concert with Los Skarnales, Gio Chamba, Blue Healer, Def Perception and KiKi’s Sordid Sideshow at House of Blues. Tickets start at $25. 8pm.
  • Fire and Ice at the Hobby Center – Kick the evening off with dinner at Artista and then move the party to Zilkha Hall for a Fire and Ice concert. Cap off the night at Ars Lyrica’s annual gala in the Founders Room. Tickets start at $37; limited discounted $23 tickets available. 8pm.
  • Let Go 2015 at Walter’s Downtown – See a packed show with sets from Space Villains, Devil Killing Moth, Pitter Patter, Black Lodge, Dad’s Records and comedy by Micro Satan at Walter’s Downtown New Year’s masquerade. Masks and formal wear strongly encouraged. Tickets start at $12. 8pm.
  • Ruby Revue Burlesque Show in the Bronze Peacock Room at House of Blues – End your year on a risqué note as the masters of burlesque tease and American variety shows return to Houston for two shows. Tickets start at $25. 8pm and 10:30pm.
  • Happy New Year Party at Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar – Sing in the New Year at Pete’s alongside four dueling piano players. 8pm.
  • The Crystal Ball NYE at the Crystal Ballroom and Lawless Spirits in the Rice Hotel – Enjoy unlimited premium cocktails in the grand and swanky historic ballroom, with music by Empire 6, DJ beat, a 1am breakfast taco buffet from Sambuca and more included in the ticket price. $135. 9pm.
  • A Midnight Kiss New Year’s Eve at Pure Nightclub & Lounge – Seal your evening with a kiss at PURE. Guests will enjoy live DJs and a complimentary champagne toast when the clock strikes midnight. Tickets start at $20; limited discounted $10 tickets available. 9pm.
  • New Year’s Eve Soul Celebration at MKT Bar – Jive to the live funky sounds of The Journey Agents as well as ’60s soul, pop and rock 45s spun by DJ Tempty at Phoenicia Specialty Foods’ MKT Bar. Snack on light bites throughout the evening and enjoy chicken and waffles and artisan pizza with your champagne toast. Tickets start at $45. 9pm to 2am.

  • 5th Annual Rock The Clock New Year’s Eve Affair at Red Oak BallroomCount down to midnight at Red Oak Ballroom during their annual Rock the Clock party. The formal affair (dresscode strictly enforced) will feature a red carpet arrival, laser light show, confetti, photo booth and music from four of Houston’s hottest DJs. $30; VIP packages start at $90. 9pm to 2am.

  • Great Gatsby NYE Dinner at Hubbell & Hudson Bistro – Take a seat at Hubbell & Hudson Bistro for one of three Gatsby-themed meals, the last of which (seating at 9:30pm) features live music, a champagne toast and party favors. Seatings begin at 5:30pm. Dinners begin at $49.

  • Sylvan Beach Pavilion New Years Eve Gala – Ring in 2016 in La Porte with a buffet dinner, midnight champagne toast, blackeyed peas, party favors. The Sylvan Beach Pavilion will also have non-stop dance music throughout the evening from Stellar Unit, Duly Noted, Gene Keen and Common Ground. Tickets start at $80.79. 8pm.
