- A Christmas Story: The Musical at The Hobby Center | Daily – Inspired by the classic film, this stage musical chronicles Ralphie Parker’s efforts to ensure Santa brings him a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas, despite distractions like tacky leg lamps, tongues stuck to icy flag poles and Scut Farkus. Tickets start at $37; limited discount tickets start at $21 for select shows. Showtimes vary.
- The Snow Queen at Frenetic Theater | Daily – See a family-friendly production of The Snow Queen performed by FrenetiCore Dance. $16; limited discounted $8 tickets available. 7:30pm nightly.
- Cabaret Da Camera at the Bayou Bend Spiegeltent | Thursday through Saturday  – Take in one or all of Da Camera’s swinging music series featuring the boisterous music of Weimar Berlin, the French Gyspy jazz of the 20s and 30s and swinging take on the classics from the Great American Songbook. Each performance is staged twice on the grand stage at the giant, spectacular Spiegeltent in the gardens at Buffalo Bayou. The  fourth and final performance in the series happens on Tuesday, December 15. $50. 7pm and 9pm nightly.
- Hanukkah Dinner at Genesis Steakhouse | Thursday, Saturday and Sunday – Feast on favorites like latke, sufganiyot and more at Genesis – Houston’s first kosher steakhouse – during Hanukkah. 7pm nightly.
- Glassell Studio School Art Sale | Friday and Saturday | FREE to Attend – Find unique gifts, browse original works of art by students of the Glassell School of Art, and enjoy holiday refreshments during this annual event. noon to 8pm Friday; 10am to 8pm Saturday.
- Holiday with the Cranes in Galveston | Friday to Sunday – Spend the weekend watching Sandhill Cranes on the coast at a variety of activities and events as part of Holiday with the Cranes. Prices and locations vary. 6:30pm to 9pm Friday; 8am to 7pm Saturday; 6:30am to 5pm Sunday.
- Very Merry Pops at Jones Hall | Friday to Sunday – Sing along to holiday favorites like “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Joy to the World” and “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” during the Houston Symphony’s annual Very Merry Pops show. Tickets start at $35. 8pm Friday and Saturday; 2:30pm and 7:30pm Sunday.
- Tomball German Christmas Market | Friday to Sunday | FREE – Shop unique gifts from more than 170 vendors, enjoy live music on 4 different stages, chow down on German fare, step into the petting zoo and more during the Tomball German Christmas Market. 6pm to 10pm Friday; 10am to 10pm Saturday; 10am to 6pm Sunday.
- The Heritage Society’s Candlelight Tour | Saturday and Sunday – Tour historic homes decorated for the holidays, let the kids participate in activities at Santa’s Workshop, enjoy musical entertainment, do a little shopping at the Holiday Art Market and grab a cup of hot chocolate during the 2015 Candlelight Tour. Tickets start at $5. 5pm to 10pm Saturday; 5pm to 9pm Sunday.
- The Houston Chamber Choir presents Christmas at the Villa | Saturday and Sunday – The beautiful Villa de Matel Chapel is filled with holiday choral music at this always popular Christmas performance. $40; limited discounted $20 tickets available. 3:30 and 7:30pm both days.
- Dance 3 at MATCH | Saturday and Sunday – Experience a production from three local dance companies as they showcase their different styles of dance in one show at MATCH. $15. 8pm Saturday; 2pm Sunday.
