  • Nature Storytime at Nature Discovery Center | Wednesday, November 11 | FREE – Take your preschoolers to storytime at the nature center.  Story hours often include nature walks, live animals and other activities. 4pm.
  • American Heroes Parade in Downtown | Wednesday, November 11 | FREE – Salute our veterans at the City of Houston’s Veterans Day Parade, featuring soldiers, veterans, horses and more. 11:30am.
  • Disney on Ice: Treasure Trove at NRG Stadium | Wednesday, November 11 through Sunday, November 15 – Experience your favorite Disney characters like never before as they take the ice for Treasure Trove at NRG. Expect to see Rapunzel, the princesses and several characters from The Lion KingPeter Pan and Alice in Wonderland. Tickets start at $17. Showtimes vary.
  • Free Museum Entry in the Museum District | Thursday, November 12 | FREE – Visit some of Houston’s most popular museums for free every Thursday. Hours vary for each venue.
  • World Trekkers: Thailand at Houston Museum of Natural Science | Friday, November 13 – Get your passports stamped at the Houston Museum of Natural Science at this events featuring Thai-themed crafts, Thai cuisine and entertainment. $10. 6:30pm.
  • Creation Station: Natural Artwork of Asia Society of Texas | Saturday, November 14 | FREE with RSVP – Design art projects with recycled, found and natural materials in celebration of the exhibition Drawn from Nature. The event is free but be sure to reserve your spot. 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
  • Market on the Avenue at West Ave – Enjoy outdoor shopping on West Ave itself as special merchants join West Ave favorites outside with musical entertainment and specials on shopping, food and drink. The event is technically free, but a $10 suggested donation will go to the Houston Food Bank. 1pm to 4pm
  • Turkishfest at Jones Plaza in Downtown | Saturday and Sunday – Experience Turkish culture through food, music, dance, art and handmade goods during Turkishfest in Downtown Houston. Kids can get their face painted, make crafts and enjoy storytime in the designated children’s area. 11am to 11pm Saturday; 11am to 9pm Sunday.
  • Children’s Festival in The Woodlands | Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15 – Fun for kids of all ages, the 20th Annual Children’s Festival brings kid-friendly performing and visual arts to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for a full weekend of fun. $8 in advance; $10 at the door; free for children under 2. Times vary.
  • Bayou Bend Family Day: Our National Identity at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens | Sunday, November 15 | FREE – Wander through the garden trails, tour the mansion, make crafts and enjoy performances based on the ways American culture was shaped by its early generations. 1pm to 5pm.
